Experience

Graduate Research Assistant: Innovative Additive Manufacturing Lab (September 2018 - December 2021)

  • Designed, assembled, and analyzed 500+ structures through CAD/CAM/CAE tools for industrial, aerospace and medical applications.

  • Fabricated 100+ complex parts out of metal powders (e.g., IN718 & Ti64) using a selective laser melting (SLM) 3D printer (EOS M290).

  • Conducted regular and preventative maintenance on the lab's 3D printers and other equipment

  • Prototyped small parts with intricate precision, and over-sized components at a larger scale out of plastics and polymers (e.g., ABS, PLA)

  • Applied design of experiments (DOE) using Minitab® Statistical Software to develop and optimize products and processes in a cost-effective and confident manner

  • Performed mechanical tests using MTS Servohydraulic load frame, measured the hardness using LECO LM 300 AT Micro Hardness Tester

  • Cut the samples using Allied Techcut 4™ Precision Low Speed Saw and polished them using Allied E-PREP 4™ Grinder/Polisher in order to conduct microstructural analysis (e.g., SEM images) using Hitachi S-3000N SEM and calculated the material composition & residual stresses using the Bruker D8 X-ray diffractometer
