Bhanjan Debnath

Dr. Debnath B is a Chemical Engineer, and obtained his Ph. D.  from Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru. He is interested in complex fluids, soft matter and biophysics. In complex fluids, his major interest lies in understanding mechanics of complex granular flows. In soft matter and biophysics, he works on cell-ECM mechanics. His research approach combines computer simulation and theory backed by experiments.

He belongs to a Bengali family from Agartala, capital of Tripura nestled in the mountains and greeneries in the North-East part of India. Apart from research and academics, he likes to Meditate, playing Tabla (Indian hand drums) & Chess, sketching, and cooking. Being inspired from Professor K. Kesava Rao & His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, he visits slums, rural schools and colleges, and performs demonstration of simple experiments to kindle the passion for Science and teaches Meditation to spread the importance of a stress free mind and prejudice free intellect in life.
