Welcome to the Hall Research Group!

Our research group at California Polytechnic State University, a primarily undergraduate institution (PUI), focuses on proteins and their roles in living systems. A variety of projects in the group allow students to put classroom learning into action through doing research. These projects include studying the functions of novel proteins, as well as modifying and improving function using enzyme engineering.  We are also starting to take machine learning approaches to studying proteins. A common goal for these projects is to help find solutions to real world problems in health, medicine, biotechnology, and agriculture.
