League Rules
This League strives to promote sportsmanship, competition, community involvement, and health and fitness in a recreational setting. By reserving a slot in a season of the league, all players agree to abide by the league rules. Players play at their own risk and must take precautions to play safely at all times. The league director reserves the right to remove a player from the league at any time if they do not abide by these rules.
Make sure you check your calendar to verify that you can participate at least 5 out of 6 weeks? (DO NOT SIGN UP IF YOU CAN'T ATTEND CONSISTENTLY.)
If you cannot attend, you must send a text or email to the league director at least 24 hrs in advance. If you miss a week, you will be dropped to a lower group. Players who continually fail to show up will be placed on probation and may not be eligible for future leagues.
Everyone should arrive early so play can start on time. Balls will be provided, but you need to bring your own paddle.
The ladder format is designed so that players compete mostly with others of similar skill levels. A player’s ranking on a ladder is based upon the winning percentage (the ratio of points won to total points possible).
Each week, you will be grouped with 4-5 players of similar ability. Players will rotate and play doubles with different partners. Scores will determine rankings and future groupings.
Play will be to either 20 points (4 players) or 15 points (5 players) with no 2-point win margins. If playing outside, teams should switch sides at the halfway score (10 points or 7 points) to negate sun and wind effects.
After games have been played, players will record their scores on the score sheet on their court. Score sheets must be turned in to the league director.
Special Circumstance: Tie breakers will be used from time to time. Players will compete in skinny singles with rally scoring to 5 points to determine a winner.
Players are expected to exhibit good sportsmanship at all times and will receive one warning for any behavior detrimental to the successful execution and enjoyment of the league. A second infraction will result in removal from the league.
