EPI is an approach suitable for beginning language learners. Students learn patterned language, and move from aural input from the teacher to structured production. It is very effective in building phonic understanding, fluency, and encouraging students to focus on form as well as meaning.
*Most activities created by Dr Gianfranco Conti/the Language Gym. Attend his CPL and buy his books to master EPI methodology.

TPRS is an aural-intensive approach which uses stories to engage learners. It is effective at teaching Q&A patterns to students as well as providing a high amount of comprehensible input. Translanguaging (mixing TL + L1) is often used, with a focus on one language pattern / 3 new pieces of vocabulary. It can be very student-directed which is good for natural acquisition but harder to adapt to examinations.
'Storyasking' is an adaptation of TPRS which allows teachers to incorporate popular films or TV/Netflix shows, and 'retell' the story using comprehensible language that students know.
