PRIVACY POLICY - POCKET POOL
App: Pocket Pool: 8 Ball Offline
Package: com.bgappsch.pocketpool
Last updated: 13 October 2026
Pocket Pool ("the app") is published by BG Apps CH. This policy explains what the app does and does
not do with your information. It is deliberately short, because the app collects almost nothing.
WHAT THE APP DOES NOT COLLECT
Pocket Pool has no account and no sign-up. It does not ask for your name, your email address, your
phone number, your contacts, your location, your photos or your files, and it does not have
permission to read any of them.
Against the computer, with a second person on the same phone, or alone, the game is played entirely
on your phone. Your records, your coins and cues and your settings stay on your device. They are
never uploaded anywhere, and we cannot see them.
ONLINE PLAY
Playing another person online is optional, and nothing is sent until you press "Play online" or
"Play a friend". When you do, the app uses Google Firebase and the following leaves your phone:
- An anonymous player ID. The app signs in anonymously with Google Firebase, which creates a
random identifier for your installation. It is not linked to your name, your email address or
any Google account, and we cannot use it to identify you.
- A made-up display name, such as "Player 4821", which the app generates. You do not type a
name. It is shown to the person you are playing.
- The four numbers of the cue you play with.
- The table code and the state of the frame: where the balls lie, whose turn it is, and each
shot as it is played.
There is no chat, and no way to send anything to another player except your shots and the made-up
name on your seat. Coins and records are not sent.
Online frames are stored in a Google Firebase Realtime Database in the European Union
(europe-west1). A table is removed when the player who opened it leaves it or, if the app was
closed in the middle of a frame, the next time that player goes online. A table holds nothing but
what is listed above, and no history of who you played is built.
Third party involved: Google Firebase (Google LLC) - Anonymous Authentication and Realtime
Database - used only for online play. Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
WHAT IS STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
The app saves the following in its own private storage on your phone:
- your records: frames won and lost against each computer level, two-player frames played,
practice tables cleared and your best run of balls
- the frame you are part-way through, so it is still there when you come back
- your coins and your cues: the coins earned by playing, the cues bought and upgraded with them,
and a cue you are trying out
- your settings: sound, the shot clock and whether the pocket for the 8 is called
Uninstalling the app deletes all of this. Nothing in that storage leaves your device.
ADVERTISING
The app shows advertisements supplied by Google AdMob. To do this, the Google Mobile Ads SDK is
included in the app, and it may collect and share the following for the purpose of showing and
measuring ads:
- your device's advertising identifier
- other device identifiers and technical information about your device
- approximate, non-precise location derived from your IP address
This information is collected by Google, not by us. We never receive it and never see it. Google's
own privacy policy governs what happens to it:
https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
If you are in a region where consent is required, the app asks for your consent before any
personalised advertising, using Google's official consent form. You can change or withdraw that
consent at any time from the "Privacy options" entry on the Settings screen inside the app.
You can also reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time in your device settings, under
Settings > Privacy > Ads (the exact path varies by manufacturer).
A banner advertisement is shown at the top of the Settings and About pages and once a frame is
over, and an occasional full-screen advertisement may appear between frames. No advertisement is
shown while a frame is being played. You can also choose to watch a
short video advertisement to take back your last shot, to try out a cue for ten minutes, or to add
coins after a frame; this is always optional and only happens when you tap the button for it.
Coins cannot be bought and have no value outside the game.
CHILDREN
Pocket Pool is a game of pool. It has no gambling, no simulated gambling, no betting, no chat and no
real-money purchases of any kind. Coins are only ever won by playing; nothing is staked on a frame.
It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from
children.
DATA RETENTION AND DELETION
Apart from the online tables described above, which hold no personal information and are removed
as described, the app stores nothing on our side. Removing the app from your device removes
everything the app has saved, and with it the anonymous player ID kept on your device. To ask for
the removal of an anonymous player ID from Firebase, write to the address below. The "Reset records" button in the
app's Settings also deletes your records on the device.
To ask Google to delete advertising data associated with your device, use the controls in your
Google account and the advertising ID settings on your device.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same address and the date at
the top will change.
