Leading Indigenous and Heritage scholars from UWA custom designed a bespoke Swan River Cruise that explores the hidden Indigenous heritage of the river as well as the complex tapestry of European and Asian community histories that are buried along its banks.
From Dreaming Places, to an excavation at the oldest surviving site of an English-settler farm, to the little known lives of thousands of Asian market gardeners that fed the early colony, this experience transformed our students' perception of Perth and their place within it.
The experience included on-boat storytelling, glimpses into the lives of by-gone Perth, and regular stops with short walking tours to allow a fully immersive engagement with Perth’s heritage.
