SPRING SPORTS
-Players are allowed to use their duffels in the same way students use backpacks. Players are to only carry their bags on their side or back. They may NOT hold it in such a way that it is used as a shield.
-Players at AWAY sporting events are safe from the point that their team prepares to load the bus until they return to the school. Kills made in between the time that players left the field/playing area and loaded the bus will be considered invalid.
-Home athletes will receive a 30 second count when leaving the parking lot.
-Players are vulnerable as soon as they leave the field/playing area. Players are always safe in the green zone (24/7).
-All HOME events (games, matches, meets etc.) are immune for players and spectators.
Spectators are only safe until they leave the safe zone during its unprotected time. Spectators are NOT safe at away games.
Players are immune while on the bus to and from the event. If the bus returns to Bexley and does not park in the green zone, there is a 30 second rule stating when the player steps off the bus. If parked in the green zone, players are safe until they step out of the green zone. Then the 30 second rule applies.
A club sport is a team that is part of an official organization with a coach. There is 30 second rule starting once the individual leaves the property.
Parking lots of these facilities are not safe.
THE JCC AND OTHER ATHLETIC CLUBS ARE IMMUNE; HOWEVER, THERE IS NO 30 SECOND RULE WALKING IN OR OUT OF THE GYM. The player needs to be off the property before they are allowed to abide by the 30 second rule. The property does include the parking lot for these facilities.
Track practice often run around Bexley. They are safe even when running in the streets, because they are at a school sports practice. After the scheduled end time for the practice, the players are not safe.
Lacrosse, baseball, softball, Ultimate Frisbee and any other spring sports/clubs safe zones for practice are shown below (practices that do not take place on school grounds). The lacrosse teams are safe until one foot outside of the boundary (this does not apply to the parking lot). Players have 30 seconds to undress after you are dismissed from practice.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The INSTAGRAM Page must be kept clean. Any inappropriate content posted to the page will be deleted or reported. This page is public, so please keep that in mind.
Clothes must be held away from the body at all times. This includes after school or before practice. There will be no discrepancies between kills with this rule.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SAFE ZONES
Pictures on the home slide show the safe zones. THESE ARE SAFE 24/7. The yellow shading is to show you the outline of the school.
Players are NOT allowed to undress on school property at any time. This includes the sidewalk closest to the school. Across the street is legal.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THE SOME OF THE SAFE ZONES END AT THE SIDEWALK.
The roads are not considered safe on Ardmore, Fair, Powell and Roosevelt.
There can be no squirt guns visible at school. Put in your backpack hidden or in your car.
The rule for leaving your home works the same as leaving a safe zone. As soon as you step out of your houses, you are vulnerable. Whatever body part is out of a safe zone or your own home may be shot and counted as a kill. If that part of your body is not shot, the kill does not count.
Cars are not safe zones (with the exception of those who are going to Mosaic, etc.) Even if you take a 30 second count to the car with time to spare, you are not necessarily safe.
Home baseball games at Clowson Field are safe for spectators as it is a home match. The pink zone for practices will be used as the safe zone for games. Spectators will be safe beginning 15 minutes before the advertised start of the game. There will be a 90 second count after the final call of the game occurs, then the zone will no longer be safe FOR SPECTATORS. Leaving before the end of the game is also protected by a 90 second count.
Places of work for players are safe zones. However, once they leave the building or property, the 30 second rule will apply once again. For many places of work, this includes the parking lot, if the parking lot is labeled as belonging to that place of work then a teamplayer is still safe until they leave.
-PLACES OF WORK ARE ALWAYS SAFE UNTIL THE SHIFT IS ENDED. ONCE IT IS ENDED, THE 30 SECOND RULE IS SET IN PLACE ONCE THE TEAM PLAYER LEAVES THE PROPERTY OF THE PLACE OF WORK.
IF BUSINESSES OR BUILDING HAVE SIGNS SAYING "NO SENIOR TAG" OR SOMETHING ALONG THOSE LINES, PLAYERS ARE SAFE INSIDE.
PLAYERS MUST HOLD THEIR CLOTHES AWAY FROM THEIR BODIES. Preferably, all the way out in front of them so that there are no discrepancies.
In order to resolve kill validation issues and arguments, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ensure all evidence is usable and effective. If judges cannot tell whether a kill was valid because the evidence was not sufficient enough, arguments at that point are null.
Judges reserve the right to penalize teams as they see fit if there are repetitive issues or problems from the same team/people.

MAKING A KILL RULES
-In order to kill someone, you must spray them with a watergun.
-No water balloons, hoses, water bottles or buckets of water are allowed.
-In extreme cases, judges reserve the right to make adjustments to rules when applicable
-For your kill to count, you must notify the JUDGES via text or call within 10 minutes of the kill. The verification must include the approximate time, location and target of the kill.
-Once a player has been killed, the player is out for the remainder of the game.
-You must send a picture and/or video of the kill to the judges, during or after the kill. The more pictures the better. We will post every picture or video you send.
Watergun requirements
-No nerf guns
-the watergun may not shoot any other liquid but water
-the gun cannot reflect an actual weapon
-you can decorate but please decorate responsibly
-the purpose of the gun needs to be labeled as a water gun
-send a picture to the judges to verify your gun is allowed if you are questioning it
-if you use an unacceptable gun, your kills with it will not count.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CLOTHING
-Wearing a mask is highly recommended throughout the game
-Players will not be punished for double or triple masking (it is encouraged)
-No bathing suits are allowed.
-Players CAN shoot someone while wearing clothes, however, it is at the PLAYER'S own risk. Whoever shot first, is out. Not the player who was shot second.
-NO LAYERING
-YOU MAY NOT WEAR UNDERWEAR UNDER SPANDEX OR BOXERS; if you choose to wear either of these they count as your underwear and you are only allowed one layer.
-sunglasses, earrings, watches, bracelets and necklaces are permitted as long as they do not cover portions of the body
-Backpacks/bags may be worn as you are walking TO school in the morning and LEAVING school in the afternoon. Exceptions to this rule include Spring Sports players who are walking to their car/home after practice and theatre rehearsal, as it is techincally after school for them.
Acceptable pieces of clothing include:
-Spandex (Waistband must be below the bottom of your naval; no biker shorts)
-Boxers/briefs
-Bras (sports bras are allowed, however they cannot cover more than an inch of your body below the breasts; exceptions to this rule would be students who wear binders or some other piece of that fashion)
-Underwear (boy shorts underwear is allowed for women only)
-Socks (no knee highs; mid-calves are fine)
-Shoes
-Masks
Unacceptable Pieces of clothing include;
-Hats
-Umbrellas
-WEARING DOUBLE OR TRIPLE OF ANY PIECE OF CLOTHING
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IMMUNITY
-You MUST count OUT-LOUD to 30 seconds in order for a 30 second rule to activate. If you do not count out loud or your count is not loud enough, the kill will count.
-Inside the school building is always safe
-only ATHLETES are protected at away or neutral game locations.
-School transportation is protected and does not apply to normal car rules.
-All doctor's offices and hospitals are OFF LIMITS, including the parking lot (this includes PT, seeing a therapist or psychiatrist)
-All places of worship are off limits (ie. parking lot or surround sidewalks). Because worship services are places of respect, any kills made during a service will result in a point reduction and potential disqualification for the team that made the kill.
-ALL GRAD PARTIES AND PROM ARE SAFE ZONES
-However, the 30 second rule applies to the property of the host's graduation party
-These places are only safe from the time the grad party starts to end. This means that the official time of the grad party will be considered safe.
-Concerts, non Bexley-athletic events or similar events at any venue are protected by a 30 second count IF the judges have been told 24 hours in advance by the event's attendees that would be going.
IF YOU BELIEVE YOU QUALIFY FOR A TEMPORARY IMMUNITY, (ie. for a funeral, prom at another school, etc.) YOU MUST REQUEST IMMUNITY FROM THE JUDGES AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE.
If immunity is not granted and your circumstances are not one of the special cases listed above, you are vulnerable.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
30 SECOND RULE
The player must count out loud (very loudly) for 30 seconds while walking to or leaving from the designated safe areas.
The player must be counting out loud until the 30 seconds are either over or they are in their underwear.
If you are killed, but claim you were counting quietly, your kill will be discussed, however the kill should still stand. To mitigate this confusion, just count as loud as possible.
BEWARE
30-second rule only protects players if they are traveling to or from designated areas, such as work, medical appointments, or home sporting events.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Substitution
Your substitute must follow these two simple criteria.
Player must be a senior
They must either be A) a killed team member that is currently enrolled in the game or B) a registered sub that has paid their fee and is currently not subbing
If you will be out of town at a safe event for more than 18 hours (not including sports), you are required to find a sub AND tell the judges at least 24 hour in advance. Please explain who is your sub and when the start/end time of the event is. Immediately following the end of your substitute time-window, you can be killed.
It is the PLAYER'S responsibility to find a sub, not the judges!
If you fail to notify the judges of your substitution on time, you will be out for the remainder of the round, and your team will receive a -1 point penalty for every 8 hours that a substitute is not found.
Remember that this is cumulative and has no limit. Subs may only sub for 1 team at a time. A list of available subs can be found on the website under the teams tab.
You may not use a sub just because you are tired or do not feel like playing. That's embarrassing.
If you would like to make a permanent replacement, you must tell the judges one week in advance. You will not get a refund. If your team wins, you will not get any money.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Houses
You may only enter a house to shoot someone if a family member of the house opens the door for you and lets you into their house.
If you enter a house, PLEASE WEAR A MASK. (While judges cannot penalize the team, it is important to not be exposed and cost your team if players need to quarantine.
Players can be shot on one's property (ie. the back or front yard). However, if a family member tells a player to leave, they must leave immediately. (NO TRESPASSING).
If a player makes a kill after being told to leave, the kill will not count.
Players can be shot through the window, however the window must have been previously opened (ie, a player CANNOT open the window themselves). This goes for doors as well.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Driving
Only people in the BACK SEAT or PASSENGERS may shoot out of a moving car/golf cart. Drivers may NOT shoot out of a car, whether it is moving or parked.
Moving vehicles MAY NOT shoot at one another. If the shooter isn't in the car, they are allowed to shoot the moving car.
If a car is unlocked, players may open the door to shoot someone. THIS ONLY APPLIES TO A PLAYER'S CAR. DO NOT OPEN PARENTS OR OTHER FAMILY MEMBER'S CAR.
Avoid traffic, hazards and accidents. If you get into an accident, judges are not liable and you risk the safety of yourself and others, especially your teammates.
PLEASE BE SAFE
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Helpful Reminders
Absolutely no kidnapping of another team player or the team is disqualified.
If a member of a team is found cheating the WHOLE team is disqualified.
Each player's buy in is $20. (Teams of 4 will pay $80 and Teams of 5 will pay $100). Venmo to @KateHuefner
Subs will pay a one time buy in of $10. If a sub plays more than ten days, they are required to pay another $10, as they are entitled to the team's winnings at the end.
Judges will receive a total of 10% of the final pot as compensation for the time and effort they put in. The remaining 90% is awarded to the winning team. The judges will send money to each player to ensure it is fair.
Any updates will be posted by JUDGES ONLY and will be posted to Instagram and sent to team captains. Once the team captains are notified, it is their responsibility to tell the rest of their team. Judges are not to be held accountable if a team captain fails to update their team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
COVID
Please try to stay six feet away from people not on your team. If six feet is not able to be achieved, it is highly recommended to wear a mask.
Exceptions to wearing a mask include running/out of breath, just stay 6 feet away from your opponent.
A mask needs to be on/around your neck/on your ears/on your person when interacting with an opposing team, but if it is not over your chin, nose, and mouth, you should try to keep 6 feet of distance.
If you are putting another team's player at risk by forgoing CDC's covid guidelines, your kill will be under review by judges. Disclaimer- your kill may be rescinded so play responsibility.
For guidelines on social distancing please see, https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/social-distancing.html
If you are invited inside a house by a family member, wear a mask.
If a team player has to quarantine, a substitute will take over. It is mandatory for a sub to fill in for 10 days. A team player will not be allowed to return to their team if a family member is positive until the 10 day quarantine is over. This includes even if the player tests negative.
Eliminations are based on the number of points each team gets every week; if a large amount of players on a team cannot participate because of quarantine, they may be eliminated. The judges will not reinstate your team's availability to play because a team failed to be safe during senior tag.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WARNING
-Reminder that a majority of players are 18 years old so please play responsibly. You can be prosecuted with illegal behavior.
