I am a person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist who is compassionate and sincere. I provide a caring environment and the conditions needed for personal exploration that support your natural movement toward healing - something already present within each of us. With genuine interest, curiosity, and being alongside you, I listen to understand and be with you to explore your thoughts, feelings and current difficulties. Together we pay attention to what is going on in both mind and body. There isn’t always an easy answer or a way to simply wish difficulties away - but together, we can explore what’s happening and move forward at a pace that feels right for you so that you can be more self-attuned and live a more enriched and fulfilled life. From this you can make healthier, more meaningful choices that are more inline with your deepest self, not the self that you feel you should be or expected to be.
I am trauma‑specialised, drawing on the work of Janina Fisher and emphasises relational safety, somatic and emotional regulation, and gently explores the parts of us - thoughts, feelings, behaviours and sensations - that can feel disturbing, out of place or cause emotional blockages. This can look like anxiety, depression, panic attacks, confidence and self-esteem issues, relationship issues, generally feeling stuck in life and PTSD or Complex PTSD symtoms.
These parts often hold the experiences of past trauma, and when we approach them with curiosity and compassion, they can become pathways to understanding and growth. In my experience, healing from complex trauma is supported by a nurturing, consistent therapeutic relationship, and it is not uncommon for people to have therapy for several years.
Through my own inner work and embodied healing, I have come to realise the inner wisdom and strength that can unfold when exploring painful feelings, sensations and experiences, helping us to make meaning of our life or current challenges.
Rewind Therapy
Rewind is a gentle process that helps ease trauma, anxiety, and phobias. It is quietly transformative - no need to re-live distressing memories or speak them aloud. Instead, it works by allowing the mind to process and reframe what’s been stuck, often bringing a deep sense of relief and calm. Rewind is one of the ways you can be supported in reconnecting with your sense of stability and wholeness - gently, and at your pace.
I offer counselling to those over 18 years old. My counselling experience includes short-term and longer-term counselling, supporting people with a wide range of difficulties. I have also supported people with perinatal mental health and survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence.
Other things about me
My meditation practice began in 2011, and I have been a parent for 20 years. Other work includes being a Safeguarding Manager for a local charity that supports young people with their mental health. I am also a Trustee for Survive Abuse Charity and director of Silk House Therapy and Wellbeing Cooperative, aligning with my passion to contribute meaningfully both personally and in community.
Making an Enquiry: What Happens Next
Following an enquiry we may have a brief phone call where we can talk about what you’re looking for and see whether it feels right to meet. If it does, we’ll arrange a free no‑obligation meeting. After that, if you’d like to continue, we can book a first session and begin to shape our time together. Having counselling at the same day and time each week gives you a gentle, steady place to come back to. This regular rhythm can help you feel held, supported, and able to open up at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
How many sessions we have and how long we work together, depends on what you feel is right for you and what you need from counselling. For some, this is more short-term - a few months and may be goal focused regarding a particular challenge. For others, it may be longer term - many months or years as meaningful change takes time. A steady, therapeutic relationship allows you to explore your inner world at your own pace, understand yourself more deeply, and gently move toward a life that feels more grounded, connected, and true to who you are - beyond coping.
I will support and respect your desired way of working.
