6-Steps to Better Skin
Most people think that there's some sort of magic serum for the perfect skin. However, the "magic" really goes back to a better daily routine. The same can be said for other parts of your body such as your hair and basically, overall health. Here's 6 basic and must-do steps to keep your skin ever healthy and radiant:
- Drink More Water
When you're dehydrated, the body's optimal function drops to a low. Certain processes by other organs, helps to keep your skin healthy. A crucial one is your liver. When dehydrated, the liver fails to regulate the sebum levels on your skin.
- Avoid Stress
High levels of stress makes your skin prone to acne breakouts and various skin problems. To avoid stress, engage yourself in activities like yoga and meditation. Take a step back from all your piling obligations and keep organized throughout your day.
- Eat a Healthy Diet
When having your meals, always make sure to have an even portion of greens, lean meats and whole grain. A balanced and nutritious diet not only keeps your body healthy, but provides the nutrition you need for an ever-glowing skin. Including plenty of vitamin C will also be great as it has been shown to improve the skin
- Be Gentle with Your Skin
Showering obviously washes away impurities, but did you know that too much showering can be bad for the skin? Similar to hair, too much washing with soap or shampoo will actually remove natural oils that is essential for the skin. To keep the face moisturized at all times, be sure to gently pat your skin after shower and apply moisturizer when possible.
- Avoid Smoking
Smoking is a huge contributor to wrinkles. This is because smoking narrows blood vessels, which compromises the amount of oxygen and important nutrients for the skin. Not to mention, smoking damages collagen, a fiber that gives elasticity and strength to your skin.
- Shade Away from The Sun
Being under the sun is not actually a bad thing. However, with the state of the environment these days, too much of the sun can give problems and even lead to skin cancer. Wherever possible, try to get sunscreen on your skin and seek shade where the sun rays are at its strongest. This time frame is usually just before to about 2pm.
