Our language evolves as our understanding grows. Over the years we talked about sustainability, but we couldn't really define it as more than an aspirational state of being. It was not clear how to actually do it.
Then we realized that resilience was fundamental to sustainably. But while we could define resilience a little better than sustainability, it still wasn't clear how to make it happen.
Now, a little more recently, we realize that fundamental to all of those is the process of regeneration. And we know how to do it. We've been doing it for years with organic farming and gardening, Permaculture, keyhole gardens, even our hybrid cars!
Paul Hawken, for years one of the best and most practical environmental writers, has formed a group that is compiling an encyclopedia of regeneration called Nexus. We don't need to say more about it. Just go there and immerse yourself. Regeneration is the epitome of wisdom in action!Â
