Ubisoft Production Manager for Video Services

About the company

Ubisoft is a French company that develops, publishes, and distributes video games. They have released over 1,000 titles in more than 50 countries. Their games are available for consoles, PCs, smartphones, and tablets in both physical and digital formats.

Role

As the Production Manager at Ubisoft, I oversaw a wide range of responsibilities. This included managing creative and project managers, handling vendor and cross-functional relationships (covering budgets, expectations, communications, negotiations, feedback, and more) for all video game brands. I also supervised the execution of over 3200 assets, spanning online content, TV materials, events projections, web design, social media assets, and motion graphics. These assets were crucial for marketing launches, road shows, executive presentations, and live stream programs.

In addition to my managerial duties, I played a key role in ongoing organizational improvement. Specifically, I served as a workflow consultant for the Creative Department, collaborating closely with the Key Art department to digitize the project management process for print production.

Furthermore, I contributed to the development of my colleagues by providing extensive training. This training encompassed various tools and project management methodologies, such as Scrum, Kanban, Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Docs, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, and Excel.

Events

Siege Day

Overview

In 2015, on Rainbow Six Siege Day, one of Ubisoft's flagship franchises, a live Twitch streaming game competition was hosted. This event significantly increased awareness of the Rainbow Six Siege game. My team, Video Services, was tasked with designing all the motion graphic assets for the event. Our assets played a crucial role in the livestream broadcast, serving as environment projections to immerse the audience both at the event and those watching from home.

Results

The event proved to be a resounding success, receiving positive reviews from both the press and gamers. We also managed to save the company approximately $29,000, demonstrating our ability to compete with larger creative agencies to our cross-functional teams. Furthermore, the project provided a unique job experience for one of my staff members, opening up new growth and professional developement opportunities within the company.

After the success of the collaboration, my team was tasks to handle all event graphics and projections for the majority of our brands. Our services grew from simply editing and creating trailer versioning to an in-house agency that handled original documentaries, events and social media campaigns.
