Eagles Bounce Back in Ballston Spa
MOD9 got bac to their winning ways with a decisive 3-1 at Ballston Spa.
Bethlehem came out of the gate aggressively with two first quarter goals from Esad Bozdemir. On the first, Marcel Sautron made an excellent run down the right flank and laid the ball back to Che Bruno, Bruno delivered a pinpoint, curling cross into the box that Bozdemir headed in to give Bethlehem the lead.
Minutes later it was Bozdemir again, megging his man in the top left corner, cutting inside off the endline, and blasting a near-post shot to make it 2-0.
Sebastian Carrascal, Jorby Consatnt, Ozan Tas and Owen Griesbach all tallied first half shots on goal.
When Tas was tripped in the box for a penalty kick 20 minutes in, Owen Griesbach calmly panted a shot to the upper left to give Bethlehem the 3-0 lead.
Bethlehem continued to generate opportunities in the second half, with Bozdemir, Consatnt, Griezbach, Carrascal, Evan Ackerman, Jackson Cooley, and Connor Barrowman all registering shots on goal. But the Ballston Spa keeper was sharp and prevented further damage.

Away vs. Colonie Draw 2-2
October 8, 2025
Eagles Show Fire in Comeback
MOD9 erased a 2-0 deficit on the road at Colonie to earn a 2-2 draw.
The sides were evenly matched and battled hard throughout the game. The first half saw the sides trading possession in the midfield, but struggling to generate offense. Colonie had the first chance when Bethlehem was called for a push in the box. But for the second time in as many games, the Eagles got a big save from their goalkeeper on the resulting spot kick. This time it was Jason Coup in net for Bethlehem, and he guessed correctly to make the diving stop and keep the game scoreless.
Che Bruno, Evan Doyle and Ozan Tas all recorded first half shots for the Eagles but were unable to beat the Colonie keeper. The half ended scoreless.
Colonie ratcheted up the pressure early in the second half and scored two quick goals in the 10th and 12th minutes, including a top shelf blast from 30 yards out that the Colonie player’s family will be talking about for years.
Bethlehem would not be satisfied to take the loss, however. With ten minutes remaining in the game, Jackson Cooley played Bruno in behind the defense, and Bruno made no mistake as he slotted the ball under the keeper to make the score 2-1.
Just a minute later, the visitors would get some assistance from the soccer gods. Doyle cleared a ball out of the Bethlehem end and into the Colonie box. The Colonie defender failed to deal with it, heading the ball back over his own keeper and into the net.
The game ended 2-2. Possession was 52%-48% in Bethlehem’s favor and the Eagles recorded 4 shots (2 on goal) to Colonie’s 8 (5 on goal). Corner kicks were 4-1 in Colonie’s favor, and the Eagles committed 6 fouls to Colonie’s 7. MOD 9 is now 3-3-2 heading into their Wednesday match at Saratoga.

October 8, 2025
Rematch with Shen Ends in Loss
The MOD9 Eagles traveled to Clifton Park with hopes of avenging their Monday loss, but in the end Shenendehowa proved to be too much for them as they were defeated 3-0.
Shen came out on the front foot and spent the early minutes generating chances in the Eagles’ end. Bethlehem keeper Jason Coup made two saves for Bethlehem, but on Shen’s fifth corner kick of the match they found an attacker on the far post who headed it in to take the lead.
Bethlehem played tough for the remainder of the half but were unable to get any shots on goal. The half ended 1-0.
The teams went back and forth throughout the second half, but it was once again Shen who was able to generate offense, as they were able to score on a lofted shot just one minute in and then again on a free kick in the ninth minute.
Noah Tauber recorded a shot on goal for the Eagles, as did Nick Coscio Thiel who landed a header on target following a cross from Esad Bozdemir. But for the third time in as many games, Bethlehem was shut out.
The Eagles received some late game heroics from goalkeeper Sawyer Montag. Following a handball in the box, Shen received a penalty kick and seemed destined to extend the lead to four. But Montag guessed correctly and made a diving save to his right to pluck the shot out of the air and hold onto it.
The game ended 3-0. Possession was roughly even (51%-49% in Bethlehem’s favor) and the visitors recorded 9 shots (7 on goal) to the Eagles’ 3 (1 on goal). Corner kicks were 12-3 in Shen’s favor, and the Eagles committed 6 fouls to Shen’s 8. The boys are on the road again Friday vs. Colonie.

It was another close contest and another hard-fought victory for Bethlehem MOD9, who defeated crosstown rivals Guilderland Friday by the score of 1-0.
Coach Frese's Bethlehem squad looked poised and confident in their third game of the 2025 campaign as they battled their perrenial rivals on a warm, sunny late summer afternoon. The Eagles had the run of play for the majority of the game, with the midfield players and forwards linking up nicely to create scoring chances, including a shot by Alex Villasenor that was stopped by the Dutchmen keeper. Bethlehem's defense also shined, with center backs Nick Coscio-Thiel and Walker Prusik providing a steady, physical presence.
