Kuo believes the 'iPhone SE 2' will sell at least 20 million units in its first calendar year of availability. Given the potential popularity of the device, Kuo also offers an optimistic prediction of up to 30 million units, if all goes well for Apple, though this is if Apple does indeed launch the model in the first half of the year as anticipated.

"The market is concerned that iPhone 15 shipments will be further cut due to supply chain issues (my estimate of 80 million units vs. conservative views of 70-80 million units), especially iPhone 15 Pro Max shipments will be delayed," writes Kuo in his full blog on the topic. "However, the fact is that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will start mass shipments this week, and Apple is also increasing shipments of legacy models simultaneously."

"With the market being overly conservative on iPhone/iPhone 15 2H24 shipments, leading to a correction in the stock price and a favorable trading sentiment for new product announcements," he continues, "Apple stock may have a rebound opportunity in the near term."

Kuo does not elaborate on his statement that Apple is "increasing shipments of legacy models." However, it's common for Apple to continue selling a previous year's model alongside the latest one.

It may therefore be that Apple expects whatever iPhone 14 models it continues to make, to continue to sell well even after the iPhone 15 range is unveiled.

Ming-Chi Kuo also notes that Samsung has cut its smartphone orders to 220 million units.

"If Apple keeps the 2H24 iPhone orders unchanged," he continues, "then the iPhone shipments are expected to reach 220-225 million units in 2023, surpassing Samsung as the largest smartphone brand."

"Apple's latest iPhone shipment target for 2024 is 250 million units, and a reasonable 2024 iPhone shipment estimate, from my view, could reach 5-10% YoY," says Kuo. "Since Samsung's internal view of 2024 market demand is still conservative, Apple will likely remain the largest smartphone brand in 2024."

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 15 range in the next couple of weeks.

Ming-Chi Kuo: Apple To Could Sell 30 Million iPhone SE 2 Units In 2020

"Apple is struggling to overcome a combination of shutdowns and worker protests at a key production facility in Zhengzhou, China, that resulted in Apple negatively pre announcing on Nov. 6," EvercoreISI analyst Amit Daryanani wrote in a note on Tuesday. "Since then the situation in Zhengzhou appears to have somewhat improved but not back to normal. We think the site has been operating at ~60-70% utilization for nearly a month. To reflect the continued headwinds we are adjusting our [quarterly] estimates lower as iPhone demand could get affected by 5-8 million units (mostly at high-end) and negatively impact revenues by ~$5-8 billion in [the current quarter, which ends after December]."

The iPhone SE 2 has been one of the main focuses of some of the biggest talk coming out of analysts in recent weeks, with Ming-Chi Kuo being arguably one of the loudest voices on that front. Now the analyst has provided a new research note claiming that Apple could sell at least 20 million iPhone SE 2 handsets in 2020.

Overall, Kuo believes that Apple will sell fewer iPhone 7 models in 2016 than iPhone 6s units in 2015. The analyst said Apple could sell 70 million to 75 million iPhone 7 units this year, up from his previous estimate of 65 million units.

Even though the iPhone 13 and iPhone 12 series look nearly identical if you take a look at our previously reported dummies leak, it is the internal upgrades that will matter on this occasion, ranging from improved cameras, increased battery sizes, and of course, the inclusion of 120Hz LTPO OLED screens on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. However, JP Morgan has set a slightly conservative shipments estimate, as an earlier report mentioned that Apple could ship up to 240 million units in 2021 alone.

According to the Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple may be considering developing a second-generation AirTag. Kuo predicts that Apple has sold 20 million and 35 million units in 2021 and 2022, respectively. Kuo believes that Apple could make a second-generation Apple AirTag if the sales and shipments continue to grow.

San Francisco, November 7 (IANS) Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed that the iPhone maker will ship at least 20 million iPhone SE 2 units in 2020, following the device's launch in the first half of the year.

If all goes well for Apple, Kuo also offers an optimistic prediction of up to 30 million units due to potential popularity of the device, Apple Insider reported on Wednesday.

As per the report, the iPhone SE 2 will use a 10-layer Substrate-like PCB (SLP) for its motherboard, the same technology used by the iPhone 11's version.

This will benefit multiple iPhone suppliers, including Pending Holdings, Xinxing, and AT&S, even though the SLP will be a less expensive component than the one used in the iPhone 11 series of devices.

Kuo expects the device to look similar to the iPhone 8 and believes it will be a popular upgrade option for existing iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S owners.

He had earlier said, the phone would have an A13 chip, also being used in iPhone 11, along with 3GB RAM and could start selling at $399.

The phone will have three colour options such as silver, space grey and red.

Meanwhile, Apple Insider reports that Apple is gearing up for a potentially blockbuster product launch. "30 million fifth-generation iPhone units by the end of calendar 2011," writes staffer Neil Hughes. "If Apple were to meet that goal and sell all of the handsets in the holiday quarter, it would easily best the record 20.34 million iPhones Apple sold in its June 2011 quarter." be457b7860
