What We Believe

About the Bible

The Bible is the sole authority in everything that we do. We believe that it came from God, and because of that, we strive to live and worship by its commands. As a result, we reject all human creeds (Galatians 1:8,9; Revelation 22:18,19).

About Becoming a Christian

We believe that there's nothing that man can do to earn God's salvation (Ephesians 2:9). We could never, through our good deeds, earn salvation. But Romans 5:8 says: "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Because we couldn't earn salvation, God gave the greatest gift ever given: Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son. That is the grace of God, which allows us to be saved (Ephesians 2:8).
The Bible gives us five "steps of salvation," conditions God has told us we must meet before we can accept his gift of grace.

  1. Hear the word of God (Romans 10:17)

  2. Believe that Jesus is the Son of God (John 8:24).

  3. Repent (turn away from) sins and strive to be like Jesus (Acts 2:38).

  4. Confess that you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (Romans 10:9,10).

  5. Be baptized in water (I Peter 3:21).

About Worship

We believe that there are five distinct "acts of worship" given in the New Testament. Because of that, every Sunday in our worship assembly, we engage in all five:

  1. We sing (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16)

  2. We pray (I Timothy 2:8)

  3. We partake of the Lord's Supper (Acts 20:7)

  4. We give (I Corinthians 16:2)

  5. We preach/study (Acts 20:7; Romans 10:14)
