This distinction for iGEM Athens 2025 Team and Maria Lekka (Lab Instructor), in International iGEM Competition 2025, concerns the innovative scientific work of the team, which aims to protect organisms from the harmful effects of microplastics.

35th European Crystallographic Meeting

Ass. Prof. Kostas Bethanis participated in 35th European Crystallographic International Conference, where he delivered a presentation titled “Convergence study of a gradient-descent algorithm for Bloch amplitude refinement under the kinematical approximation”. His talk attracted the interest of the participants, highlighting key aspects of his research and contributing meaningfully to the scientific dialogue of the event.
8th Hellenic & Paris Pasteur Institute Young Scientists Conference

PhD(c) Maria-Eirini Lekka participated in 8th Hellenic & Paris Pasteur Institute Young Scientists Conference, where she presented part of her doctoral research focusing on the study of Fatty Acid & Retinol Binding Proteins from plant-parasitic nematodes. Her work explores the structural characterization and computational analysis of these proteins, providing new insights into its potential biological functions and implications.
