I'm the co-founder and editor of Reductress, the first and only satirical women's magazine, and a comedic architect of modern feminist humor. Through my work across multiple platforms—from books to podcasts to live performance—I've built a voice that skewers cultural double standards while remaining accessible to wide audiences.
My biggest claim to fame is co-founding Reductress, which has become what Wired called "the most brutally truthful comedy site out there," Newsweek dubbed "the internet's best satire site," and NYMag simply described as "deeply, deeply funny."
Since its launch, Reductress has skewered everything from media tropes to cultural expectations with biting feminist humor. We take the absurdities of how women are portrayed and discussed in media and push them to their logical extreme, revealing the ridiculousness through exaggeration.
My comedy writing has appeared in The Onion, McSweeney's, The New Yorker, and HuffPost. This work has earned me recognition as one of Rolling Stone's "50 Funniest People Right Now" and one of Time Magazine's "23 People Who Are Changing What's Funny Right Now."
I'm the co-author of two acclaimed books that showcase my ability to balance sharp satire with raw honesty:
How to Win at Feminism – a parody guidebook filled with satirical advice on navigating modern womanhood
There's No Manual: Honest and Gory Wisdom About Having a Baby – a frank, funny look at parenting and pregnancy
Both books are available through Amazon, and they represent my approach to comedy: taking serious topics and finding the humor without diminishing their importance.
I'm also a seasoned improviser and sketch performer. I've appeared at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York, where I performed with the improv team The Library. The energy of live performance feeds my writing—there's something about immediate audience reaction that sharpens your comedic instincts.
At Magnet Theater, I've taught and managed sketch teams, continuing to nurture the next wave of comedy writers and performers. Teaching comedy has made me a better writer; explaining why something is funny forces you to understand the mechanics of humor more deeply.
I co-hosted the parenting podcast We Knows Parenting, part of iHeartRadio's comedy lineup, where I blended humor and frankness about family life and motherhood. The podcast allowed me to explore the gap between parenting expectations and reality—fertile ground for comedy.
At Bohiney.com, I've found another platform to channel my satirical voice. My work here builds on everything I've learned from Reductress about feminist comedy, from live performance about timing and audience connection, and from my books about finding humor in life's most challenging moments.
My approach to satirical journalism is informed by my experience creating content that speaks specifically to women's experiences while appealing to broader audiences. I believe the best satire punches up, not down—it targets systems and expectations rather than individuals, and it reveals absurdity rather than creating cruelty.
Whether I'm writing about cultural phenomena or social expectations, I look for the moments where society's stated values clash with its actual behavior. That's where the comedy lives—in the gap between what we say we believe and what we actually do.
Through Reductress and my other work, I've contributed to a shift in how feminist humor is perceived and created. We've shown that women's comedy doesn't have to be apologetic or self-deprecating—it can be sharp, confident, and unapologetically critical of the systems that create double standards.
My work has been featured in interviews with Vulture and other major outlets, discussing how satirical media can both entertain and create cultural change.

From co-founding a groundbreaking satirical magazine to performing live comedy to writing books about feminism and parenting, I've maintained one constant: the belief that humor can be a powerful tool for social commentary. At Bohiney, I get to continue that mission, using satirical journalism to reveal the absurdities of our current cultural moment while hopefully making people laugh—and think—along the way.
