Beta Omega Meeting 2/4/2023
The February meeting of Beta Omega Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma was called to order by President Peggy McFadden at Bemo’s Restaurant in Cottleville, MO at 11:00 a.m. on February 4, 2023. Six members were present. Attendance prize was won by Rose Brown.
Members participated in the recitation. The minutes of the December meeting were approved as read. The treasurer reported an ending balance of $2843.95 and indicated that the spreadsheet was not showing the correct balance. Sally Terrell volunteered to check the spreadsheet formulas and make corrections. The bank refunded $24.00 in fees. Nettie Cardus’ check of $35 has not been cashed. Check was sent to her old address. Treasurer has requested a debit card for the chapter account to make transactions more convenient.
Committee Reports: For Communications Peggy McFadden encouraged members to utilize information contained on the chapter website and reported that she will be submitting newsletters to the state organization regarding chapter awards. Excellence in Education Peggy McFadden indicated that SEE participants were doing well. There was no report for Finance, Membership, Nominations, or World Fellowship. For Scholarship Rose Brown indicated that she will be sending out applications for the Grant-In-Aid. No one has applied for the grant in two years.
Old Business: Peggy McFadden reminded members that we are accepting donations for Operation Backpack and not backpacks. Donation website will be included in an email. Peg thanked everyone for their prayers and well wishes.
New Business: Members participated in the “What’s New With You” activity. The International has updated their website and has a new corporate address. Members discussed the possibility of dissolving our Beta Omega Chapter. Dues for next year were postponed to allow further discussion. The deadline for the Key Woman Educator Award is March 1. The Missouri state convention will be held April 28-29, 2023 in Columbia, MO. Members were encouraged to register. Hollenbeck Middle School will be contacted concerning annual food drive.
Spring Birthdays were recognized. A motion for meeting adjournment was made and seconded.
Following the meeting Sally Terrell presented a program on 180 Days of Self-Care for Busy Educators.

Beta Omega Meeting – 12/11/22
The December meeting of Beta Omega Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma was called to order by President Peggy McFadden at Sally Terrell’s house in Cottleville, Missouri at 2:00 p.m. on December 11, 2022. Five members were present. Anne Ledbetter won the door prize.
Members participated in the recitation. The minutes of the September meeting were approved as read Lisa Stearns asked about discontinuing Zoom. Sally and others volunteered that Zoom was available through their schools.
Jennifer Redford was unable to attend the meeting, so the treasurer’s report was shared by Lisa Stearns. Deb Trupiano and Joni Hodapp donated money and sent nice cards, which were read. It was noted that $6 per month was being taken by the bank for the past 3 months. Nettie Carter had not cashed her $35 check for overpayment. The ending balance is $2678.95, but this is not matching what was expected. A corrected treasurer’s report will be sent. When Lisa looked at the account balance online, it showed the current balance to be $2713.95.

· Scholarships shared that information had been sent to principals, but no one had responded. The information will be resent with a new deadline. Someone will check in the Treasurer’s guidelines for when scholarships can be awarded, to make sure we stay in compliance.
Old Business: Everyone discussed how fun and informative the October outing to Bellefontaine Cemetery was. The need for new members was discussed, as we only had 5 members show up for the December meeting.
New Business: Members participated in the What’s New With You activity. Anne Ledbetter will be the new recording secretary. Gamma Xi chapter dissolved. The February meeting will be for Operation Backpack, so members may make a monetary donation since backpacks are no longer being donated. Peggy McFadden will be attending the Missouri Convention in April. Book Club will be reading American Dirt, by Jeanine Cummins and will meet at Bemo’s on January 15 at 1 p.m. Lisa asked how many members need to attend for meetings to be counted. Birthdays were recognized. A motion for meeting adjournment was made and seconded.
Following the meeting members participated in “Rob Your Neighbor Activity”, then a holiday craft project.

Beta Omega Meeting 9/10/2022
The September meeting of Beta Omega Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma was called to order by President Peggy McFadden at J.J.’s Restaurant in O’Fallon, Missouri at 11:00 on September 10, 2022. Nine members were present. Linda Mayer won the door prize.
Members participated in the recitation. The minutes of the June planning meeting and the May regular meeting were approved as read. The treasurer reported an ending balance of $2,696.95. Members discussed the technology category of the proposed budget and opted to leave funds in this category. Chris Guinther moved and Roberta Rose seconded to accept the proposed budget. The motion passed unanimously. There was no correspondence.
Committee Reports: For Communications Peggy McFadden reported that the website is up and available. For Excellence in Education Peggy reported that there are three new teachers at Hollenbeck Middle School who have been contacted. There was no report for Finance, Nominations, or World Fellowship. For Membership Anne Ledbetter discussed maintaining membership numbers. Under Scholarship, the deadline for submission of applications for the Grant-In Aide has been extended to October 14. Peggy discussed possibly keeping the deadline in the fall in the future.
Old Business: Peggy relayed that Rose Brown had won free dues for 2023-2024. She asked that members make any changes in contact information. Our goals will remain the same for this biennium. Beta Omega has joined the Mid Missouri Council this year. Chris Guinther distributed information regarding changes in Missouri voter laws. She also discussed teacher shortages in the state of Missouri.
New Business: Members participated in the What’s New With You activity. Peggy distributed updates to binders. Our October outing will be on the 9th at 1:00 at the Bellefontaine Cemetery. Birthdays were recognized. It was motioned and seconded to adjourn. Following the meeting members participated in a Pass the Present activity.

Beta Omega Planning Meeting 6/16/2022
The Beth Omega Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma was called held at Shamrocks in St. Peters, Missouri at 11:00 on June 16, 2022. Seven members were present. President Peggy McFadden welcomed members. The drawing for free dues for 2023-2024 was won by Rose Brown. Peggy announced that our chapter won the following awards at the state convention:
1. Four Star Chapter Achievement Award
2. Supporting Early Career Educators Award 3.
Chapter Website Highest Honors
4. Chapter Newsletter Highest Honors.
Joni Hodapp was also recognized for 40 years of membership. Members agreed that many of these honors are due to Peggy’s hard work. Peggy reviewed the purposes of DKG, our mission, our Vision, and our History. Peggy encouraged members to review items that will be proposed at the International convention later this year. In particular, eligibility for membership will be addressed. Members agreed to continue with our Projects/Goals:
1. Supporting SEE
2. Participating in Hunger Projects, and
3. Continue the current goal of adding two new members.
Members signed up for committees and planned meeting dates. Tentatively, they are

February 4, and
May 6.
A craft meeting will be held October 8, and the planning meeting will be held June 15. Jennifer Redford will host the Book Club early in July. Members are reading “The Wonderful World of Marceline.” Joni Hodapp presented a slate of officers: President – Peggy McFadden, Vice-President – Sally Terrell, and Secretary – Roberta Rose. Birthdays were recognized and the meeting was adjourned.
Beta Omega Meeting 5/7/2022
The May meeting of Beta Omega Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma was called to order by President Peggy McFadden at J.J.’s Restaurant in O’Fallon, Missouri at 11:00 on May 7, 2022. Nine members were present. Jennifer Redford won the door prize.
Members participated in the recitation. The minutes of the April meeting were approved as read. The treasurer reported an ending balance of $4,112.51.
For correspondence Peggy McFadden read a note from Jessie Lashley who had sent a donation for our grant-in-aid fund in the name of Barb Roach.
Committee Reports: There was no report for Communications, Membership, or Nominations. For Finance, Jennifer Redford asked that members submit receipts/bills by May 31. For Excellence in Education/SEE, members will visit with SEE participants before the end of the current school year. For Scholarship, Rose Brown reported that no applications have been received. Jennifer Redford motioned that we extend the deadline for the grant-in-aide to September 30. Chris Guinther seconded. The motion passed unanimously. For World Fellowship Roberta Rose motioned that we send $50 to the World Fellowship Fund. This was seconded by Jennifer Redford and passed unanimously.
Old Business: Members were reminded to contact Joni Hodapp about offices/positions that they would be interested in filling. Peggy McFadden reported that our Zoom account has been cancelled. Peggy McFadden plans to attend the Missouri NE Regional training June 3-4, 2022. The training is at the Old Mayview Schoolhouse in Higginsville, Mo. The registration deadline is May 20. The training is encouraged for the president, vice president, and treasurer. Operation Backpack/Food Search if currently taking place. Peggy McFadden provided a collection link as well as an address for members to contribute. The Wonderful World of Marceline by Diane Manley will be our next book for our book club. We will contact the author is see when she can meet with us for our discussion. The author is a friend of Peggy McFadden.
New Business: Members participated in the “What’s New With Your” activity. Roberta Rose motioned and Chris Guinther seconded that we join the Mid Missouri Council of Delta Kappa Gamma. The motion was passed unanimously. Chris Guinther will provide members with information that pertains to education from the Missouri state legislature End of Session Report. She discussed the current teacher shortage. Birthdays were recognized. Chris Guinter motioned and Jane Hinton seconded that the meeting adjourn. The motion passed.
Our planning meeting will be held on June 16 at 11:00 at Shamrocks on Mexico Road in St. Peters.

Beta Omega Meeting 4/3/2022
The April meeting of Beta Omega Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma was called to order by President Peggy McFadden at J.J.’s Restaurant in O’Fallon, Missouri at 12:00 on April 3, 2022. Nine members were present. Rose Brown won the attendance prize.
Members participated in the recitation. The minutes of the December meeting were approved as read. The treasurer reported an ending balance of $3,229.51.

Committee Reports: There was no report for Communications, Excellence in Education, Finance, Membership, or World Fellowship. For Nominations members were encouraged to consider running for an office. For Scholarship Rose Brown reported that no applications have been yet received. The deadline is April 30.
Old Business: Peggy McFadden is still collecting teaching tips. We will collect for Operation Backpack at our next meeting. The Missouri NE Area conference will be held June 3-4 at the Old Mayview Schoolhouse in Higgingsville, Missouri. The President, Vice President, and Treasurer are encouraged to attend. Peggy McFadden provided a link for the meeting. Registration is $20. The book club needs a new book, and members will provide suggestions. Jane Hinton motioned and Lisa Stearns seconded to discontinue paying for Zoom for our meetings. The motion passed.
New Business: Members participated in the “What’s New With You” activity. Dues were collected. Linda Mayher and Peggy McFadden attended a meeting of the Mid Missouri Council. We will vote at our next meeting on whether to join the council. Our food drive will be held in conjunction with Hollenbeck Middle School. More details will be forthcoming. Birthdays were recognized. The international convention will be held in New Orleans July 12-16, 2022, and the Missouri State Convention will be held April 28-29, 2023 in Columbia, Missouri.
Following adjournment, Peggy McFadden presented a program on chair yoga.
Beta Omega Meeting 12/5/2021
The December meeting of Beta Omega Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma was called to order by President Peggy McFadden at J.J.’s Restaurant in O’Fallon, Missouri at 1:00 on December 5, 2021. Nine members were present. Linda Mayher won the attendance prize.
Members participated in the recitation. The minutes of the September meeting were approved as read. The treasurer reported an operating balance of $2024.51.
Treasurer Jennifer Redford presented the revised chapter budget as discussed and approved by members with the appropriate changes made in category titles and expenditures. Budget was approved as read. Members were reminded that the December auction funds go to Grant-in-Aid.

Committee Reports: There was no report for Communications, Finance, or Membership. For Excellence in Education Linda Mayher reported SEE teachers were doing well. For Scholarship, Rose Brown indicated that scholarship letters would be sent out to schools in December.
Old Business: Peggy reminded members to continue to work on increasing membership. Discussion on Grant-in-Aid Balance was tabled until next budget session. Peggy also reminded members that nominations for offices are needed by the end of this biennium. “My Favorite Teaching Tips” continue to be collected.
New Business: Members participated in the “What’s New With You” activity. Our next book discussion will be held at Walnut Grill on January 18th at 6:30. Peggy announced that the Theta Chapter from Farmington was dissolved by a majority vote. Chris Guinther will be contacting Operation Backpack for the best way to complete our chapter project. The NE. Area Conference will be held June 3-4. 2022 in Higginsville, MO. Birthdays were recognized.
Following the meeting Peggy McFadden presented a program on Holiday Scattergories.
Beta Omega Meeting 9/11/2021
The September meeting of Beta Omega Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma was called to order by President Peggy McFadden at Town Square Pub ‘n Grub in Dardenne Prairie via Zoom and in person at 11:00 on September 11, 2021. Eleven members were present.
Members participated in the recitation. The minutes of the May and June meetings were approved as read. The treasurer reported an operating balance of $1317.57.
Treasurer Jennifer Redford presented a chapter budget and members discussed appropriate categories for expenditures. A motion to increase the supply budget to $200 was made, seconded, and passed. A motion to add a line item of “technology” (which includes Zoom fees) was made, seconded, and passed. A motion to combine honorariums and awards into one category with a total budget of $50 was made, seconded and passed. A motion to set the technology budget at $200 was made, seconded, and passed. Our budget contains $1315 for Grant-in-Aide. The group tabled discussion on this category. Jennifer asked that members submit all receipts by the end of May and that members cash checks promptly.

New Business: Members participated in the “What’s New With You” activity. Our next book discussion will be held at Bemo’s in Cottleville on September 14th at 6:30. Our craft meeting will be in October. Members will share teaching tips with SEE participants each month. Birthdays were recognized.
Following the meeting Peggy McFadden presented a program on navigating state, local, and International Delta Kappa Gamma websites.
Beta Omega Meeting 6/17/2021
The Beta Omega Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma held its planning meeting at J.J.’s Restaurant on June 17, 2021. Ten members were present.
President, Peggy McFadden, called the meeting to order at 11:00. Peggy reviewed the mission, vision and history, and the purposes of Delta Kappa Gamma. We will continue our current projects which include supporting the SEE program and hunger projects. We have a goal of initiating two new members each biennium.
Joni Hodapp won the drawing for free dues. This will apply to the dues which are paid in February of 2022.
