Welcome to Beta Epsilon Chapter

Thank you, Sisters!

Our chapter sponsered FIVE foster children through Least of These Carolinas 12 Days of Christmas this year.  Your support and generosity is so appreciated.  Below are the gifts that our contributions made possible this Christmas season.

🌟Member Spotlight🌟

Connie Bell

Connie was initiated into Beta Epsilon on November 6, 1986, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cherryville. She was very nervous and concerned that she had gotten herself into something that she wasn’t ready for. She remembers many of the ladies there that evening wearing mink stoles and capes. She was very uncomfortable but found DKG was and is a warm accepting group of women educators. Connie has held many positions in Beta Epsilon and her most important role was president. Her very first meeting as President was in September 2010 and her daughter-in-law went into labor, delivering a beautiful baby girl. Being president allowed her to meet many members from across the state. Connie taught 4th and 5th grade at North Elementary in Kings Mountain. After she retired, she added AIG to her license and taught for 7 more years. Connie and her husband have been married for 54 years and have 2 sons and 5 grandchildren. They both are trap shooters (clay targets). Together they have traveled across the southeast participating in events. She loves to cook, especially Italian and also enjoys making pound cakes. She enjoys reading and working in her flower and vegetable gardens. DKG has and always will be special to her.  Below Connie and Becky enjoyed visiting Martha.

Jewell Vinson

Jewell joined Beta Epsilon in May of 1990. Dr. Judy Houser invited her to be a member. She has served many roles in our chapter including Vice President, Chair of the Scholarship Committee, Personal Growth Committee, Scrapbook Chair, and currently serves as our chapter’s Historian. What she loves most about being a DKG member is the opportunity to fellowship with members and meet new teachers from other schools and districts. Jewell loves gardening and is involved in pet rescue. She is married, has a son, and has 2 grandsons. Below, Jewell at the Biltmore Garden.
