There are a number of manufacturers involved in the production of laser rangefinders. Below we look at some of the major manufacturers such as Bushnell, Leupold and Nikon. We also look at a relatively new entrant, Wildgame Innovations.
Bushnell
Bushnell Corporation is based in Overland Park, Kansas. It has been manufacturing products targeting the outdoor and sports industry, focusing on optical devices. Their products include GPS devices, laser range finders, night vision equipment, binoculars, spotting scopes, game cameras, telescopes, riflescopes and holographic gun sights, among other optical equipment.
Bushnell is an industry leader in the manufacture of laser rangefinders in the consumer electronics market. Some of their popular rangefinders include Medalist, Scout 1000 Arc, Legend 1200 Arc, Sport 600 and Yardage Pro Sport 450.
Their products rank highly on Amazon popular choices in their respective categories. They have won recognition numerous times for their products. These include the Best Buy award from Outdoor Life magazine in 2005 for their Browning Sports Optics binoculars. Their mission statement is “To develop and market superior optical products that enhance the experience of outdoor and sports enthusiasts.

Leupold
Leupold & Stevens, Inc. is headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, United States. The company is a family owned business started in 1907. They manufacture a wide range of optics and other devices related to the outdoor sports and military markets. They manufacture a wide range of scopes, spotting scopes, rangefinders, binoculars, flash lights, mounting systems and accessories. Some of their popular rangefinders on Amazon include RX-1000 Digital, RX-750 TBR, RX-600 and GX-1 Digital Golf, amongst others.
The company is proud of its American heritage and manufactures the product largely in the United States, with the exception of some high quality lenses that need to be imported from abroad. Leupold products are used widely including by the United States Army, Secret Service and Navy SEALS. Leupold goes by the quote “We solemnly promise never to let down on quality, the customer is entitled to a square deal.”

Nikon
Nikon Corporation is a major Japanese manufacturer headquartered in Tokyo. The company is focused in optics and imaging. Nikon has a wide range of products ranging from cameras, laser rangefinders, microscopes, binoculars, scopes, steppers and various other measuring instruments. They are most well known for their cameras.
Nikon produces high quality laser rangefinders. Some of its more popular rangefinders at Amazon include ProStaff 550, RifleHunter 550, Archer’s Choice, Monarch Gold and Team Realtree Laser 1200, amongst others. Nikon’s goal is to “Transforming imagination into creativity.”

Wildgame Innovations
We talked with Rangefinder Club and Wildgame Innovations is a smaller and relatively new company in comparison to the other manufacturers. The company started in 2002 and is based in Broussard, Louisiana. They have a 1,100 acre deer lease in Louisiana where they extensively test their products. They are focused on deer attractants, supplements and food plots but have expanded to any product related to hunting. These include laser rangefinders. The Halo 400 is an example of a popular Wildgame Innovations rangefinder.
They identify themselves with “Nutrition, Attraction, and Action.”
