Building a Base for a Hot Tub

You will need to plan the foundation until you have chosen the place to position your hot tub or spa. And if you get your provider to match the shower, this will generally be your responsibility. When they bring it, they would expect the area to be ready for planning.

When it comes to building your base, there are only two important points to remember; hot tubs are heavy and they have to be level.

The foundation you are planning must be level and solid enough to withstand a weight of at least 1.5 tonnes and probably more. To validate this, you will need to check the specs of your preferred shower, or talk to your sales agent.

The base needs to be wide enough to fit the requisite hot tub, heat pump and services to service it. Consider the room for you to reach the hot tub, so you don't want to ascend straight from your yard.

It is possible to sink the tub into a hole in the ground. While the principles are essentially the same, this requires more effort to dig out the hole and run in the utilities. Typically the tub is placed on a base at ground level. Visit now TimberIN for more information.
