BESTLINK COLLEGE OF THE PHILIPPINES LIBRARY DEPARTMENT HISTORY
Bestlink College of the Philippines is a non-stock, non-profit and non-sectarian institute founded in June 2002 in Quezon City. The emergence of the 4-Year CHED programs led to the change of its name from Institute with Computer TESDA-accredited courses to a College.
Although the school requires only minimal fees, it still meets and provides adequate facilities and services not to mention the competent and qualified instructors eagerly and enthusiastically extending and sharing their help for the welfare of the students. Its first site was not sufficient for the forecasted growth. It was started with one room and a one thousand total collection of books managed by a part-time librarian.
In 2004, Bestlink Institute of Information Technology, with its new Administration, decided to move to its new location at 1044 Brgy. Sta. Monica, Quirino Hi-way, Novaliches, Quezon City. On the first lot stood a two-storey building which used to be a bank. This was improved by Bestlink College of the Philippines, thus, the ground floor served as the Administration Office and the second floor housed the College Library.
In 2008, the library located on the second floor of the building was headed by Mrs. Susan Josafat, Librarian, two support staff, Leah Candido and Margarita Aquino, a group of student assistants and on-the-job trainee.
From one thousand books it grew to six thousand books to cope with the increasing number of students. Additional librarians were continuously hired. Additional courses, likewise brought in an increased numbers enrollees that reached its peak at approximately thirteen thousand students.
In 2012, the school opened another campus located at Lot 762 Cor. Topaz St. and Sapphire St., Millionaire's Village, San Agustin, Novaliches, Quezon City with a land area of 9,305 sqm. With the continued increase of enrollment, a modern state-of-the art library that focuses on collaborative modern series of Library was constructed.
