Currently, I offer Swedish and deep tissue massage, and have some training in cupping and trigger point therapy. I plan to continue my education so that I can bring more specialized and therapeutic options to my clients.
SWEDISH MASSAGE
A Swedish massage is a popular type of massage that focuses on relaxation and improved circulation. It uses long, gliding strokes, kneading, and other techniques to ease muscle tension and promote overall well-being. Swedish massage is known for its gentle yet effective approach, making it suitable for both beginners and those seeking stress relief.
DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It uses firm pressure and slow strokes to reach the deeper layers of muscle and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles). This technique is often used to relieve chronic aches and pain, contracted areas, and muscle stiffness.
CUPPING THERAPY
Cupping therapy is an ancient healing practice that uses suction cups to create a vacuum on the skin, drawing blood to the surface and potentially relieving muscle tension, pain, and inflammation. It's a type of alternative medicine, distinct from traditional massage which typically uses compression.
TRIGGER POINT THERAPY
Trigger point therapy is a technique used to relieve pain caused by "trigger points", which are tight, painful knots in muscles that can cause referred pain in other areas of the body. The goal is to apply pressure to these points to release tension and reduce pain.
