All the aircon units come with a remote control that lets you function it easily. But during the life span of your AC unit, you must have faced some issues with your remote control. Thus, if you're air conditioner not responding to remote control, you can follow the below-given ways to fix this issue.
But before this, check whether you are close enough to the air conditioning unit or not? At times it is seen that the AC unit doesn't receive any response because you are too far away from it. So, move closer to your aircon unit and try to give it a response. Make sure that there's no furniture between you and the unit's interface. Also, remove the dirt from the sensor using a damp cloth or tissue.
Check for Batteries:
The most common reason that your remote control is not working may be due to dead batteries. So, replace the old batteries with new ones. After inserting new batteries, check whether your air conditioner is responding or not.
Check the Polarity:
Even after inserting new batteries, if the remote control does not work, then you are required to check the polarity of the batteries. You will find polarity at the backside of the remote. These are printed or embossed with the symbols "+" and "-". Check whether they are installed correctly or not!
If it is not inserted correctly, remove the batteries and re-insert it as per the polarity directions. In case if the batteries are inserted correctly, then there might be some dirt or blockage. So, clean it with the help of a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol.
Check Sensor:
If your air conditioner is not responding to the remote control, don't forget to check the sensor, as a malfunctioning LED can cause a remote control malfunction.
Check the AC Unit:
Another way to check if there's an issue with your remote is to check the air conditioning unit. For this, press the buttons that are present at the bottom of the AC unit. If they work correctly, then there's an issue with your remote control.
