WordPress is a better blogging platform than the traditional blog. It's easy on the eyes, it jumps off the page and it's very colorful. It's also free and extremely user-friendly.
Install WordPress on your domain is the first step. You will need both a domain name as well as a hosting account. Log into your cPanel account.
If you don't know what your cPanel username is let me tell you. cPanel lets you access the inner workings of your domain/website. This is how to access cPanel.
Let's assume your Domain Name is domain.com. Then you would go domain.com/cpanel for cPanel access for your domain.
Awesome! You should now be viewing your cPanel login screen. You should now see your cPanel login screen.
In this email, you should see a Username as well as a Password. This is what you use to log in to your cPanel. Great work!
Click the smiley face icon called Fantastic. Next, click New Installation. Select the domain that you'd like to use WordPress for.
If you have a WordPress account, enter your username and password under Admin Access Data. You can create one if you don't already have one. Fill in the encryption for your site with an administrator nickname.
Creating A Wordpress Website If you wish to have your username and password sent by email, click "Email the Details of this Installation to:". If you have trouble remembering passwords, I strongly recommend this.
Let's now focus on how to log into your WordPress account. Enter your domain name in the browser, but after the.com portion of the URL type/wp–admin. Example: domainname.com/wp-admin
Click on your domain name in dashboard and choose View Website. To keep your dashboard open, right click and then open in a new window. Awesome! You're now looking at a default WordPress website that required very little effort.
Let's not forget about creating your first webpage. Clicking on New + will take you to the area where you can create a new webpage. Clicking on Pages in the dashboard list to create a new page, you can also hover over it and click Add New.
Select a title and then in the editor add the content that you would like to display on your new page. You can edit the content as you wish, adding images and changing fonts and colors.
Save your page as a draft if you have to quit or stop work due to an emergency. To see the final version of the page before it goes live, click preview under Publish.
You can also choose to make the page public or private. However, if you are creating a page for business purposes, it is best to make it public.
