Rent a Room to feel at Home

This furnished room and ensuite private bath is for one individual. Access to the room is through the front door to our home or through the private entrance to your room. Just outside your door you have a private patio and outdoor space just for you! 

Our place is conveniently set in a peaceful and safe townhouse community with easy access to Ride-On bus stop is just steps away and the townhouse is just two miles from Shady Grove Metro and/or MARC train and a three minutes drive to Routes I-370/270. There are lots of areas for shopping and restaurants nearby. Private parking may be available. 

Your room includes all bedroom furniture including a large bed, dresser, a chest of drawers with plenty of storage, as well as a desk and healthy desk chair and small table and chairs. The room even has an electric fireplace for cozy nights! You have a large closet and lots of personal storage space, too. The space is artistically decorated and since we furnish all towels and bedding, you have everything you need for a great stay. Our home is immaculate, lovely, and practical. You can move in with only your clothes, your phone, your laptop, and you'll feel completely at home! 

On your level, there is also a separate utility room that includes a shared washer, dryer, and laundry sink for your use. Also, in this shared space, you have sole access to a personal refrigerator/freezer located right next to your room for your use alone, as well as other private areas for storage of your groceries and food related items. 

While there is no cooking allowed on the lower level, you have access to and use of the fully equipped shared kitchen located on the main floor of our home. Everyone has full use of the main-floor kitchen, as well as all the dishes, utensils, pots and pans and dining room table. You can use everything in the kitchen, the stove, oven, dishwasher, dishes, utensil and pots and pans, and all small appliances. 

You have access, free of charge, to our wonderful community pool in the summer, and year-long access to the tennis courts that you can see from your window. There are parks with good pathways nearby too. 

The home has central heat & air, weekly recycling/trash collection, and occasional professional maid service! I've enjoyed hosting guests from NIST, NIH, and USG and others in my home for many years. •   Rent is $1350 a month which includes all utilities, Wi-Fi, plus pool in season, recycling/trash trash collection, and more. However, if you pay the rent on, or before, the first of the month, in any manner that allows it to clear my account by the 1st of the month, there's a $50 discount bringing your rent for month to $1300. 

We use a standard Montgomery County Room Lease. A signed lease and security deposit equaling the amount of one month's rent holds the room. Your first month’s payment is due on the day of your arrival. The room is usually rented for 1 to 2 years. However, sometimes we're able to accommodate shorter lengths of stays. PayPal or Zelle are accepted for the initial deposit, (excluding any transfer fees). Your NIST/NIH invitation letter, US Gov ID, or US Armed Service ID, may serve as your background check.
