I'm not too proud to admit, I've done a lot of Amazon shopping since signing up in 2006.
Over 1800 products ordered since joining (and counting) makes me fairly well qualified to direct you towards some of the best Amazon has to offer.
Unlike other product recommendation sites, I have bought and used every product here and will only list the ones I love.
So help yourself by avoiding the fake reviews, and use these UK recommendations instead.
Here are some of my favourites....
Bru Travel Coffee Cup
I've been using this travel mug for six months now, and it's become my daily go-to. I bought it initially because it's a little narrower at the bottom than others and fits into my Skoda's unusually small and narrow cup holders. The ceramic interior is great - it really does make a difference in taste and reduce metallic flavours. The insulation is excellent with my coffee staying hot for hours. The 360° lid is really convenient, and I've never had a leak, even when it's bouncing around in my bag. If you're looking for a reliable, high-quality travel mug, I highly recommend this one.
TonieBox
My two and five-year-olds are absolutely obsessed with this Toniebox. It's such a refreshing change from screen time, offering them a really engaging way to enjoy stories and music. It's really simple for them to operate independently – they can easily switch between different Tonies and control the volume. And I love that it's something that will grow with them; as they get older, they can expand their collection of Tonie characters and explore a wider range of stories and songs. It's been a huge hit in our house. And Tonie characters are easy recommendations when relatives ask what the children might want for birthdays etc.
Mary Marrow Notebooks
I love these notebooks. I use them all the time, and they make great gifts. Most of them are lined, but there are also designs specifically for things like recording passwords, and whisky tasting notes etc. They're really reasonably priced, and there are loads of bold designs that you don't see elsewhere.
Zoggs Little Twist Goggles
After trying loads of kids' goggles, these Zoggs Little Twist are the best we've found. Being a reputable brand, you know the quality is good. My kids love them because they're comfortable and don't let water in. I really appreciate the easy adjustment – the button on the back is simple to use and, crucially, doesn't catch their hair. If you're after a great pair of kids' swimming goggles, I highly recommend these.
Vegetable Peelers
I've wasted money on so many duds, but these peelers are finally the ones. They're ridiculously sharp, and the swivel action is smooth. Plus, they're dishwasher safe – huge win! They just work, so if you're tired of flimsy peelers that break or get dull quickly, do yourself a favour and get these - the best inexpensive ones around.
Personalised Children's Wooden Stool
I've been giving these personalized wooden stools as Christening presents, and gifts for 1st birthdays. Most gifts get outgrown quickly, but these are perfect from babyhood right through childhood. Little ones love having their own special stool, and it becomes a really treasured possession. They're really sturdy and having their name engraved makes it extra special and personal. If you're looking for a gift that's both practical and sentimental, you can't go wrong with one of these.
CLV Worklight
You really don't realise how often this will come in handy, or how little you can actually see without it. It's so bright and perfect for decorating, or doing anything in the garage or on the car. It's portable and waterproof and you have no idea how many more times you'll use this than you think.
Case4Life - Walking Boot Bag
I bought this in 2020 and it's still going strong. I keep walking boots in it, after deciding that an old plastic bag was no longer the best solution. I'm sure it'd be great for work boots, and football/rugby boots too.
It's water resistant with a sturdy base, well ventilated so boots air and dry properly, and keeps your boot from getting muddy.
Kärcher SC 2 Upright Steam Mop
I bought this after poring through the Which? reviews for steam mops. I was after something effective, quick to heat up, and something that didn't take up too much room. It makes cleaning the hard floors so much easier, needs no chemicals (just add water), and kills most germs. We use is once every week or two and it's dead easy.
Waterpik Waterflosser Cordless PLUS
The Waterpik has completely changed how I look after my teeth and gums. It pulses small powerful jets of water - my dentist recommended it. It just feels more thorough, and easier than normal flossing. Cordless, powerful, and will definitely last longer than the cheap Chinese ones that saturate Amazon.
HG Mould Spray
The mould spray to end all mould sprays. It doesn't even need to be mould, just anything that needs cleaning. A spray of this and it melts away. I don't even need to wipe it most of the time. Have a look at those reviews if you don't believe me. It's strong stuff though so you'll probably want to open a window. According to Amazon, I've purchased this 6 times!
The Quick Roasting Tin: 30 Minute One Dish Dinners
I'm never very good with cookbooks. There's normally too much prep and too much faff. This one though, I have actually used. A lot. The recipes in this one are all designed to be made in one roasting tin, which minimises clean-up. There are loads of different options and the instructions are easy to follow, even for me. It was recommended to me by someone at work and I wouldn't hesitate to pass on that recommendation if you're after delicious and healthy meals quickly and easily.
