The Power of Reading – Babies

Reading to your child daily is the best way to ensure that he or she develops a lifelong love of reading. The key is to introduce your baby to developmentally suitable books and to percentage their love of analyzing via daily studying collectively. This creates a lasting bond and is a time for both of you to cherish.

Love for books can begin in the first year of life. Babies love to sit on the laps of their loved ones and look at pictures in books with them. At first they were content to hear their loved ones tell what they saw. The baby replied with a smile. staring at an adult and reached out to pick up the book.

The best books for babies are made of fabric or vinyl. and feature large, realistic photographs of familiar objects, animals or people. When babies are old enough to mimic their favorite adults. They will try to turn the page. Sometimes forwards and sometimes backwards. This one is ok. Babies are learning how the book works. An adult should point to the picture and name it. Finally, the baby will point too. Make a sound that may or may not be similar to the title of the picture. Then look to an adult for peace of mind. This interaction around the content of the book is the beginning of the understanding that the pictographs on the page can represent real-life objects.
