For egg rolls, the best cooling racks are the P&P CHEF Round Cooking Rack because its three-tiered sizing handles everything from a single bite to a full batch without crowding. If you need something more compact for smaller appliances or toaster ovens, the TeamFar Cooling Rack offers a sturdy, grid-specific design that fits snugly in tighter spaces while still providing excellent airflow.
• P&P CHEF Round Cooking Rack — best for versatile steaming and layering; pick this if you need three distinct sizes to accommodate varying pot depths and cook multiple items simultaneously without overcrowding.
• TeamFar Cooling Rack — best for small-batch baking and toaster oven use; pick this if your kitchen is tight on space but you still require a heavy-duty grid that prevents cookies or breads from sliding off.
• PMIIO 8 — best for air fryer enthusiasts; pick this if you want a universal fit for mid-sized baskets that separates grease efficiently while maintaining even heat circulation for healthier frying.
• Shinelingee Oven Rack Puller — best for safety and protection; pick this if your primary concern is avoiding burns when reaching into deep ovens or pushing heavy trays back inside without touching hot metal.
The P&P CHEF set stands out immediately because it solves the most common frustration with cooking racks: size mismatch. Instead of buying one rack that might be too big for your pressure cooker or too small for your large roasting pan, this product arrives as a trio of concentric circles measuring roughly 7.5, 9, and 10.5 inches across. This tiered approach means you can stack them or select the exact diameter needed for your specific vessel, whether that is a standard stockpot, an air fryer basket, or a canning jar setup. The round shape is particularly intuitive for steaming egg rolls or dumplings, as it allows steam to circulate freely around the perimeter where food often gets soggy on square racks.
Construction quality is evident in the seamless welding and solid feet mentioned in the specifications. These features are not just cosmetic; they translate directly to durability. When you are placing heavy trays of meat or dense batches of dough onto the rack, the solid construction prevents the warping that plagues cheaper wire alternatives. The smooth, mirror-finished surface does double duty here: it makes releasing food effortless, so your delicate pastries don't tear, and it simplifies cleaning significantly. Since the material is pure stainless steel, there is no risk of toxic materials leaching into your food during high-heat cooking or steaming sessions.
Who is this for? It is ideal for home cooks who entertain frequently or manage a busy household where different meal prep tasks happen all at once. The ability to filter oil or water while keeping food elevated makes it a multitasking powerhouse. You can use it to cool fried chicken after draining excess grease, or place it inside a steamer to keep egg rolls from sitting in boiling water. The versatility extends to the dishwasher, meaning the cleanup burden is minimal despite the complex shapes.
However, there is a trade-off to consider. Because these are round racks, they do not utilize the corners of rectangular baking sheets or roasting pans as efficiently as flat grids might. If your workflow relies heavily on sheet-pan dinners with straight edges, you will lose some usable surface area in the corners. Additionally, the three-piece nature means you have to store three separate items rather than one folded grid. For those who prioritize maximum surface coverage on rectangular pans over flexible sizing, this might feel like a slight inconvenience, but for general steaming and roasting, the benefits far outweigh the geometric limitation.
The TeamFar Cooling Rack takes a different approach by focusing on stability and precision for smaller-scale baking. Measuring roughly 8.75 by 6.25 inches, this unit is designed specifically to fit snugly into toaster oven pans and smaller standard baking sheets. Unlike the round racks that leave gaps in rectangular vessels, this grid fills the available space effectively, ensuring that every inch of your tray is utilized. The design includes a thick outer frame and multiple cross bars, which provide structural integrity that prevents bending under the weight of heavy foods. This is crucial for anyone who bakes dense items like fruit tarts or thick slabs of bacon, where flimsy wires would simply buckle.

The grid spacing is another defining feature. At 0.6 inches on both axes, the holes are perfectly sized to let grease and moisture drip through rapidly while keeping larger items secure. You won't find cookie crumbs or small appetizers falling through the cracks, yet the airflow remains unrestricted. The four elevated feet lift the entire rack about 0.75 inches off the pan below, creating a necessary gap for convection currents to work their magic. This ensures that your baked goods brown evenly on the bottom and top, eliminating the need to rotate pans halfway through the cooking process.
This product is best suited for individuals or couples who bake in small batches. If you are making a dozen cookies for a party or grilling a few skewers for dinner, this size is perfect. It is also an excellent choice for smokers or grill masters who need a dedicated rack for smoking bacons or kabobs without needing a massive outdoor setup. The smooth edges are a thoughtful detail that protects your hands from scratches when handling the hot metal, and the heavy-gauge wires handle extreme temperature shifts without degrading.
The main limitation lies in its fixed dimensions. While it fits many toaster ovens, it may not be suitable for very large commercial ovens or extra-large roasting pans where you need a bigger footprint. Furthermore, since it comes as a single unit (or a pair), you cannot adjust the height or width to match unique pots like you could with the tiered P&P CHEF set. If you find yourself constantly needing to move between different sized pots for steaming, you might find this specialized size restrictive. However, for its intended purpose of reliable, small-space baking and grilling, it is a robust and efficient tool that prioritizes function over flexibility.
The PMIIO 8-inch Air Fryer Racks are engineered with a specific goal: maximizing efficiency in modern air fryers. The set includes three identical round racks, each with an 8-inch diameter, designed to fit universally into air fryer baskets ranging from 4.2 to 5.8 quarts. This universality is a major selling point because air fryer models vary wildly in internal geometry. By offering a standardized round shape, PMIIO ensures that users don't have to hunt for brand-specific accessories that often cost a premium. The encrypted grid and triangle-fixed structure provide a stable base that keeps food from tipping over during the vigorous air circulation typical of these appliances.
What sets this rack apart is its focus on oil separation. The regular grid design accelerates hot air circulation, which is essential for achieving that crispy exterior on fries or wings. More importantly, the open structure allows a significant amount of grease to fall away from the food and collect in the bottom of the fryer basket. This not only results in a healthier final product with less fat but also makes the post-cooking cleanup much easier since the food itself isn't swimming in its own rendered oil. The use of food-grade 304 stainless steel guarantees that the material is safe for direct contact with acidic marinades or sugary glazes, resisting corrosion even after repeated exposure to heat and moisture.
These racks are perfect for health-conscious cooks who love the convenience of air frying but want to avoid the sogginess that sometimes occurs when food sits on a solid plate. They are equally useful for outdoor grilling or as a general-purpose cooling station for fried items. The fact that they are dishwasher safe adds to their appeal, allowing you to toss them in with the rest of your cookware without worrying about hand-washing intricate wire structures. The weight of the set suggests a substantial build, implying they are durable enough to withstand daily use without losing their shape.
The trade-off here is specificity. While the "universal" claim covers a wide range of capacities, extremely large or oddly shaped air fryer baskets might not accept an 8-inch round rack comfortably. If you have a very large family and need to cook two layers of food at once, having three identical racks is helpful, but you might find that stacking them requires careful placement to ensure airflow isn't blocked. Additionally, because they are round, they leave empty space in the corners of rectangular fryer baskets, similar to the P&P CHEF set. If you prioritize maximizing every corner of a non-round basket, you might prefer a custom-fit option, but for the vast majority of standard air fryers, this set offers an excellent balance of performance and ease of use.
The Shinelingee Oven Rack Puller serves a completely different purpose than the other three products on this list, acting as a critical safety accessory rather than a cooking vessel. Made from smooth beech wood, this tool is designed to solve the age-old problem of reaching into a scorching hot oven to retrieve a heavy tray or push a rack back in. The long handle keeps your hands and arms at a safe distance from the intense heat radiating from the oven interior, effectively preventing burns that can occur when using makeshift tools like dish towels or bare hands.
The design features different slots that allow the puller to grip various types of oven racks securely. Whether you are dealing with a standard wire rack or a heavier glass baking dish, the wooden head provides enough friction and leverage to move the item smoothly without slipping. The smooth surface of the beech wood means it doesn't need sanding before use and feels comfortable in the hand. Its lightweight construction, weighing barely anything, makes it easy to maneuver even for those with limited grip strength. This tool is essential for anyone who bakes large roasts, cakes, or casseroles that require frequent monitoring or removal from deep ovens.
Who needs this? It is indispensable for home cooks who use their oven frequently for heavy meals. If you regularly pull out a turkey, a lasagna, or a multi-layer cake, the risk of burning your fingers is real. This puller eliminates that anxiety entirely. It is also a great addition for families with children, as it allows parents to manage hot cookware safely without risking injury. The versatility extends to toaster ovens and even air fryers, making it a compact solution for various kitchen appliances where the interior is too narrow to reach safely.
The primary limitation is that it is a single-purpose tool. It does not help you cook, cool, or drain food; it only helps you access what is already inside. If you are looking for a gadget that performs multiple culinary functions, this might seem like a niche purchase. Furthermore, being made of wood, it requires care to prevent warping or cracking if exposed to excessive moisture or placed in a dishwasher, although the manufacturer notes it is sturdy. Despite this, for the peace of mind it offers regarding safety, it is a highly practical investment that complements any serious baker's toolkit.
We compared published specs and features across these four products, focusing on material composition, dimensional suitability, and functional design intent. The ranking reflects our independent editorial opinion based on how well each item addresses specific kitchen challenges, from steaming versatility to safety protocols. No brand paid for placement, and we evaluated each option strictly on its documented capabilities and potential utility for the average home cook.
Yes, the stainless steel used in these racks is food-grade and resistant to rust and corrosion, making them safe for oven use up to high temperatures without releasing harmful substances.
Most of the listed racks, including the P&P CHEF, TeamFar, and PMIIO models, are explicitly noted as dishwasher safe, though hand washing is always recommended to preserve the finish longer.
Round racks are generally better for steaming and fitting into circular pots or air fryers, while rectangular grids offer better surface coverage for baking sheets and toaster oven pans.
The Shinelingee puller features adjustable slots designed to grip various rack types, making it suitable for most standard ovens, toaster ovens, and air fryers, provided the rack has accessible edges.
