Lots of people set alarms to meet the perfect plan for the day. However, when the alarm tone rings, they may still find themselves struggling to get up as scheduled. As a result, some heavy sleepers set motivational alarm tones to force themselves to get shocked and stay awake, while others prefer hearing funny alarm songs to prevent waking up on the wrong side of the bed. In either case, selecting a morning alarm tone is crucial to waking up the beginning of a new day.

But choosing a perfect alarm ringtone is not an easy job. You may not be satisfied with the default alarm tones on your smartphone. And the most disappointing thing is that the songs you want to set as alarm sounds are offered by streaming music services only, like Spotify. This may make things difficult and complicated to set the streaming music as alarm tone.

I want to use my new nest mini as an alarm in the morning. I have a really brutal alarm clock at the moment so I would like an equally brutal alarm ring - but the one the nest mini seems to use is really gentle and frankly a bit pants. I could easily sleep through that!

The ringtones on this website are in .mp3 format and is compatible with almost all mobile phones. Download ringtones and use them on Nokia Mobile phones, Samsung, Sony Ericsson phones, LG mobiles, Motorola phones etc...

What if we tell you that you can install a Free App and the alarm sounds of your choice and wake up refreshed? Install Alarmy today and kick those morning banters away and start to wake up early with positive thinking.

iOS 17 is now available to download on any iPhone newer than an iPhone XS, and alongside a hidden setting that will make your iPhone feel twice as fast, my favorite new feature of Apple's latest software update is the refreshed ringtone library.

Anyone who's ever woken up to that sharp, shrill tone knows how sick and twisted Apple was for choosing it as the default. People on TikTok say these "bells of hell" trigger their fight-or-flight response and make their dogs flinch. My parrot lets out a "Danger!" screech whenever he hears it. I would argue that it's the Wario of Samsung phones' sing-songy default alarm.

Radar is also a repetitive sequence of loud tones followed by softer tones, which doesn't help its case. "Loud signals are perceived to be more threatening than softer.... Thus, this design may be imagined as something scaring us, then hiding," McFarlane said, adding that "unpleasant" and stressful-sounding alarms like it "can negatively impact our mood and day's outlook."

McFarlane has co-authored several studies about the effects of certain alarm tones on sleep inertia, or morning grogginess, and his research suggests that melodic alarms are better at stirring us out of a state of unconsciousness than obnoxious "beep-beep-beep" tones like Radar. This recently led him to develop an experimental alarm called "Dawn Birds Deliberate" that taps into elements of musical theory like tempo, frequency, and phrasing for a more pleasant and gradual waking experience. It's "imagined as a conversation between two dawn birds deliberating the beautiful sunrise and the day to come" (his words), and it really is quite lovely.

You can buy "Dawn Birds Deliberate" for a few bucks from the iTunes Store and Bandcamp, or just keep reading to see Mashable's unofficial ranking of 10 standout alarms that are already pre-loaded in your iPhone's ringtone library. Plenty of them are eons better than Radar, but shockingly, it's also somehow not the worst one you could be waking up to every morning.

This one's just the default Apple ringtone, which is arguably as triggering as Radar. I can't think of anyone who would willingly try to simulate the experience of being awakened by an unexpected phone call, but maybe it would come in handy if you're the type of person who has recurring nightmares about being chased. Sorry, Freddy Krueger, gotta take this!

Summit isn't necessarily bad, either, just kind of chaotic and confusing. How did this Backyard Baseball soundtrack reject wind up as an alarm sound? Is Tim Cook a Pablo Sanchez stan? The world may never know.

One of several iPhone alarms I would categorize as "Super Mario Bros. Music" (the others being Sencha and Ripples), By the Seaside could've been the background track for a mini-game menu in a past life.

Alarm effectiveness also depends on age. Young adults aged 18 to 25 need louder alarms than older people, and preteens need an even greater threshold than young adults. You may require an alarm as much as 20 decibels louder at 18 than you would at 80.

Most pre-loaded alarms at the appropriate loudness will wake you, but specific designs (such as the one above) have been modelled on the latest research to not only encourage arousal, but also provide increased alertness.

One small study published in 2020 by researchers at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology suggests that neutral (non-melodic) sounds can increase the length of time you experience morning grogginess, meaning that the wrong alarm sound could make you feel sleepy well into your day.

Hey neighbors! Maximizing the volume within the Ring app was certainly the best first. I recommend also checking out the available chirp tones to see if one sound might be more distinct than another. Keep in mind, you are able to have multiple Keypads at one location. If the sound is not travelling through your home, adding another Keypad might help for audible coverage.

We agree. Our family just installed the version 2 Ring alarm system. The volume of the keypad is way too quiet. Very difficult to hear. Is there any way to change the sound used when arming in away mode? We have the volume set to the maximum. This is disappointing as we were used to a Honeywell alarm keypad that had a very loud and pronounced beep that let you know exactly what was happening. Any help or guidance to increase the volume or change the tones/sounds would be welcomed.

I just installed my ring system and everything is working fine but the low volume entry delay sound is a real problem. And yes, I already have the keypad set to max volume. It needs to be AT LEAST twice as loud. Plus the sound it uses is very low-end/mid-range a shrill CHIRP CHIRP would be much better to alert the user that they need to disable the alarm. I worry my cleaning lady will not hear this and forget to disarm some day. I see that this request is quite old. RING PEOPLE, GET ON THIS. My 30 year old ADT system was better at this.

If you're using the Google Home Mini smart speaker, you can't change the general alarm tone. But, like the Google Home smart speaker, you can set your favorite music or character as your alarm. Say something like, "Hey Google, set Christmas music alarm for 7 AM Monday," or "Hey Google, set a Lego Friends alarm for 6 AM Tuesday."

Yes. To set a music alarm using Spotify on your Google Home smart speaker, you'll first need to link Spotify to Google Home. In the Google Home app, tap Settings > Music, then select Spotify. Tap Link Account > choose one of the options to make a new account or log in (such as Yes, and share) > Agree and link. Spotify will now be your default music service. Use voice commands to set alarms using your preferred Spotify artist, songs, or playlist. e24fc04721
