Zara is a Neuroscience major on the Psychological and Biological tracks. She enjoys research because it gives her the opportunity for hands-on learning in areas of interest. Outside of school, Zara enjoys crocheting, spending time with friends, and attending concerts. After Butler, she hopes to attend medical school.
Habiba is a neuroscience major on the biological and psychological tracks with a minor in Painting. Her favorite part about research is being able to contribute new knowledge that can make a difference on how we understand and apply it to humans. Some of Habiba's hobbies include drawing and painting, where she tries to get involved in the Indy Arts council alongside traveling, baking, and trying out new cafes! After Butler, she hopes to attend medical school.
Bailey is a Neuroscience and Psychology double major with a minor in Biology. She is interested in genetics and cognitive processes and plans to pursue a career in genetic counseling. At Butler, she serves as the Public Relations and Outreach Officer for Women in STEM and is the Director of Scholarship for Delta Gamma. She was accepted into the Butler in Asia study abroad program in Singapore this summer, where she will be working as an intern for a neuroscience company that focuses on Alzheimer's disease and depression.
Norah is a Psychology major on the pre-med track at Butler University. In addition to psychology, Norah is interested in the study of genetics and addiction, as well as the intersection of spirituality, religion, and health. At Butler, Norah is a member of the Pre-Medical society and the Butler chapter of the Indiana Rural Health Association. Outside of school, she is an active volunteer in her local community and works in equine-assisted therapies for individuals with physical and mental disabilities. Her favorite part of research is the connections formed with students and faculty, as well as the ability to explore her intellectual freedom. After college, she plans to pursue medical school with the hopes of becoming a psychiatrist.
Liesl is triple majoring in Neuroscience, Psychology, and German. Liesl is a peer tutor, steering committee member, and social media coordinator at the Butler University Writer's Studio, and an Advocate for Community Engagement with the Center for Citizenship & Community. She loves the diversity of opportunity afforded by the psychology department’s undergrad research program, the autonomy she has in developing study designs, and the close mentorship and guidance of excellent faculty. She plans to pursue a PhD in social neuroscience after Butler.
Lauren is a Psychology and Neuroscience double major with a minor in Criminology. She plans to pursue a career in neuroscience research after graduation. Outside of school, Lauren is the president for Butler Ambassadors for Special Olympics, the student relations co-chair for the BU student foundation, and the treasurer for Women's Club Ultimate Frisbee.
Hannah is a Biology major with a Neuroscience minor.
Jenna is a Neuroscience and Psychology double major with a Biology minor. Jenna is a member of the Track & Field team here at Butler. Her favorite part about research is contributing to new information that can be applied to better the lives of others. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, making crafts, listening to music, and cooking. After graduating from Butler, Jenna hopes to further her academic and athletic career by pursuing a career in Sports Psychology.
Grace is a Health Sciences major with a minor in Psychology. She plans to attend medical school after graduating from Butler.
Paige is a Psychology major with a minor in Ethics. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in law. While her plans after graduation do not have her being in a research lab (at least at this moment), psychology as a whole and attempting to understand the human mind is something that she is passionate about. Research helps shape the future and she is excited to do all she can to contribute. Outside of school, she loves reading, traveling, and spending time with the people she loves.
Lilli is a Psychology major with a Neuroscience minor. She hopes to pursue a career in research after Butler.
Ruth graduated with a double major in Biology and Neuroscience (biology concentration) and a chemistry minor. Her favorite part of research was being able to use her education to solve new scientific problems and contribute to research in the field she loves. Ruth also loves hiking and trying to perfect her baking skills. She is hoping to pursue a career in healthcare after taking a gap year following graduation.
Andrea graduated with a double major in Neuroscience (biology concentration) and Spanish along with a chemistry minor. Her favorite part about research was learning how things actually play out and how that can be related to humans. Andrea enjoys traveling, being around nature, and reading. Following a gap year, she plans to attend medical school after graduating from Butler to become a pediatric neurosurgeon.
Jaytee graduated as a Health Sciences Major with minors in Neuroscience and Healthcare Management. His favorite part about research was contributing knowledge to the world to better understand disease and medicine. Outside of school and research, Jaytee enjoys traveling, hiking, and photography. Jaytee will begin P.A. school in the fall of 2025 at Indiana University, with intentions of working in emergency medicine.
Alyssa graduated with a bachelors in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Neuroscience. She plans to attend dental school after graduating from Butler University. Her research interests focused on nicotine studies in mice and she hopes to publish the data collected for her thesis/BSI on this topic. Outside of school, she enjoys traveling, music and crocheting.
Shea is a double major in biology and biochemistry. Following graduation in 2026, she wants to enter into a dual MD/PhD program in hopes of becoming a neonatologist at a medical research institution. She enjoys research because of the ability to increase knowledge regarding a topic, including presenting those findings to the scientific community. She spent the summer of 2024 at the University of Kentucky completing research on bioactive interphases and devices, and will start her thesis research in Chemistry in the fall.
Anna graduated with a major in Health Sciences and minors in Chemistry and Neuroscience. She enjoyed the challenge of critical thinking that research brings and learning about lab procedures such as how to collect, enter, and interpret numerical data and graphs. After graduation, Anna plans to attend a MPAS program, and work as a PA in emergency medicine.
Maci graduated with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Spanish on the pre-med track. Her favorite part about doing research is staying up to date on the scientific literature regarding our research topics and seeing how these might influence lab findings. Maci plans to take a gap year and apply to medical school with the hopes of becoming a dermatologist.
Sydney graduated with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in neuroscience. She is from Holland, MI and was also a part of Dr. Conor O’Dea’s lab, researching masculine honor beliefs and aggression. She spends her summers teaching sailing and her winters skiing and snowboarding. Sydney plans to take a gap year before beginning medical school in pursuit of a MD.
Amarpreet graduated with a B.A. in Psychology in December 2023. She is currently working as a clinical research specialist for the Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) study at the Indiana University School of Medicine. The goal of the PPMI study is to find biomarkers of Parkinson's Disease start and progression, which is a crucial next step in the creation of more effective treatments. She will start the Physician's Assistant program at Butler in the summer of 2025.
Bradyn graduated with a bachelors in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences in December 2023. She is currently attending graduate school for speech language pathology at Rush University in Chicago. Her favorite part of being in the lab was being involved in the research whether it's gaining hands-on experience with research methodologies, learning how to analyze data, or improving communication skills. She has also enjoyed collaborating with like-minded individuals as students to share ideas and learn from each other.
Kendall graduated with a B.A. in Psychology in December 2022. She is currently in a Masters of Science program in Industrial/Organization Psychology at Northern Kentucky University.
Kelsey graduated with a B.A. in Psychology in December 2022. She is currently taking a gap year and hopes to apply to animal behavior graduate programs.
