ACADEMICS

STEM

In 2019, Berryhill High School launched a new after-school STEM program. The program was created through a generous grant from the Cox Charities Innovation in Education Foundation & has now been integrated into the school day. Students are enriching their knowledge of coding, 3D printing, robotics, drones, and many other STEM related activities. For the 2022-23 school year, our STEM program has become certified as a Career-Tech Education course. This will help secure funding for years to come for this program!

TCC (TULSA COMMUNITY COLLEGE) & tulsa tech

Juniors & Seniors at Berryhill High School have the ability to attend either TCC or Tulsa Tech for post-secondary/dual credit. These courses are designed to accelerate the students' academic timeline & give them a jump as they enter college. At Tulsa Tech, they desire to be the region's leader of career & technical education. Berryhill students benefit greatly from this partnership & we look forward to continuing this fantastic partnership for the betterment of our students.

PRE-AP & AP COURSES

For the 2022-23 school year, we offer AP Lit, AP Lang, AP Calculus & AP Biology & are in development stages for AP History & AP Music courses for the upcoming years. We heavily utilize TCC for dual credit options for our upper classmen. With Tulsa Achieves, students pay little to no money out of pocket for an Associate's Degree once they graduate from Berryhill!

CURRICULUM

The curriculum at Berryhill is based on the Oklahoma standards and is enriched and remediated according to individual student needs. The district has developed a literacy program that emphasizes reading, speaking, and writing in all content areas. Our elementary provides a very strong foundation in literacy through a variety of programs. Individual reading portfolios are created for every student in third grade. Our emphasis on the individual learner adheres to the foundation for the school’s philosophy of education: We believe all students can learn and with proper supports will graduate and effectively read, think, and communicate as productive citizens in the twenty-first century. Berryhill students consistently score well on state mandated testing as well as national assessments, and are recipients of many scholarships from various colleges and universities.

Our district is large enough to provide excellent programs, but small enough to know each student as an individual. The community takes pride in the school and the students benefit from the sense of support and caring. The faculty and administration at Berryhill have established a reputation of excellence and caring. We give every opportunity to achieve academic excellence. Berryhill students achieve success in life. Among our alumni are teachers, school administrators, doctors, scientists, engineers, business owners, attorneys, professional athletes and accountants. We are proud of all of them! I hope this information is helpful as you are learning more about our district.

MUSICAL

Each year the elementary presents a musical production under the direction of Mrs. Carol Hilborn. This large production is a community favorite & a staple of the Berryhill Public Schools. Our students look forward to the performance opportunities the musical presents.

ACADEMIC ALL-STATE

Berryhill has a fantastic tradition of Academic All-State recipients. This year, Kegan Firey becomes our 9th Academic All-State recipent since 1996. At Berryhill, we believe symbols are important. What we as a people choose to recognize and honor helps determine our priorities and define what we regard as successful. When our students and educators excel, it is vital that they be recognized and serve as role models encouraging others to aspire to excellence. When you walk into Berryhill High School, you will see a banner for each of our Academic All-Staters.  We are proud of our Academic All-State tradition & look forward to continuing our success in the years to come.
