What is "Bernal Beautiful"?

We are a neighborhood group dedicated to beautification projects in Bernal Heights and beyond.

How are you going about it?

We listen to our neighbors' stories.  We identify areas that can use a little love and attention, maybe it's an empty lot, a "paper" or "unaccepted" street, a neglected green space.  Many want to make improvements but lack the time, skills, or resources individually.  We work with community members to put projects together, help them find funding with grants or fundraisers.  Together we can make great things happen. 

Who gets to decide on the beautification projects?

Neighbors like you.  That's who we are, just neighbors helping each other out.  Participation is crucial and we encourage everyone to get involved, whether it is an hour a day, a week, or a month!  Fostering a neighborhood connection makes our neighborhood safer and more fun to live.

What is going on now?

There are many projects that are going on now!  Community Art Workshops.  Restoring the hillside with native plants.  Community gardening.  Whatever your interest, we can connect you!

What is the focus now?

Bringing joy to Bernal Heights with more creative art workshops, regenerative gardening, and public art!
