The June 14, 1994 Edition of the Baltimore Sun tells us that a 30 year old mother of 4 who lived in the 4200 block of Ridgewood Ave. was found dead in Leakin Park. Bernadette Rosita Tyndale had worked for the Social Security Administration in Woodlawn for 11 years. A Southwestern District officer discovered her body in the 2000 block of Ridgetop Road on June 15, 1994. Ms. Tyndale's husband, Ernest, told police that he last saw her about 9PM on June 14th when she told him she was going to a neighborhood store. Ms. Tyndale's husband reported her missing at 1PM on June 14th. At that time, police already had found the body, but they were unaware of its identity. On June 15th the police had no known suspects. The slaying was shocking news to residents in Ms. Tyndale's well groomed scenic Northwest Baltimore neighborhood. "She and Ernie have always been such an ideal couple, just wonderful people." said Phyllis Williams wo lived next door to the Tyndale's gabled house.
"The neighborhood is just tore up over this." said Thelma Cook, who lived in the same block. "They have a very dedicated, very loving family. Bernadette always had her hat on right, and she loved her children very much."
But how quickly things can change....
According to the the July 15, 1994 Baltimore Sun, Ernest Tyndale, husband of Bernadette Tyndale, had been charged with strangling his wife and dumping her body in Leakin Park after an argument, police said.
But wait, the story doesn't end there. According to the Maryland Judiciary Case Search Ernest Tyndale pled Not Guilty, however, a jury did not agree and found him Guilty. As of November 2010, the Inmate Locator tells us Mr. Tyndale resides at the Maryland Correctional Facility in Hagerstown. Mr. Tyndale is either an unlucky inmate or is a bit of a pest. He can't seem to quit filing complaints and lawsuits.
In 2005 #502-983 Ernest Tyndale files a complaint against the Secretary of Public Safety and Correctional Services in Anne Arundel County. The judge refuses to waive filing fees. In 2006 #502-983Mr. Tyndale files a complaint against Thanos Kanellakos of York, Pennsylvania. The case is dismissed. In 2009 #502-983 Ernest Tyndale files a complaint against the Baltimore City Police Department and that doesn't seem to go anywhere.
In other cases we see the Ernest Tyndale went through a divorce from another woman in 1989, had to relinquish custody of his children to 2 other people, and in 1996 had his house foreclosed on, which is understandable because he was in prison and his wife was deceased.
I also checked the the Maryland Judiciary Case Search for Bernadette Tyndale, who had no records. But then I checked for Bernadette Sharpe which was her maiden name and it turns out she was a complainant in battery and theft charge against a Kevin A Bills in 1987.
