We are delighted to welcome you to the 2nd Berlin PhD Conference in Economics: Parallel Workshop in Applied Microeconomics, jointly organized by PhD students from the Berlin School of Economics, DIW Berlin, and WZB. Twenty selected PhD students will present their works on topics on the frontiers of applied microeconomics.
The conference aims to provide a platform for PhD students from all over the world to get together and discuss their research. It is an exceptional opportunity to receive feedback on your work and connect with fellow researchers.
The three-day program of this parallel workshop involves seminar presentations, poster sessions, and invited keynotes by renowned researchers in applied microeconomics. Application and attendance is restricted to one parallel workshop per participant. However, there will be opportunities to connect with participants of the parallel workshop in micro theory and behavioral economics.
Selected speakers will be assigned a 30-minute slot to present their paper. Each presentation will be followed by a 5-minute discussion led by PhD students or post-docs invited by the Berlin School of Economics, and a 10-minute Q&A session with the audience. Participation at the parallel workshop on micro theory and behavioral economics is not possible.
We are grateful to the Berlin School of Economics, the WZB Berlin Social Science Center and the Hertie School for generously hosting the conference. Thanks to the generous support by the German Research Foundation (DFG RU Labor market transformation), the Dr. Hans Riegel Foundation, and the Berlin Network of Labor Market Research, we are happy to announce that there is no conference fee. Conference meals and accommodation will be covered for all participants. Please note that travel expenses cannot be reimbursed and must be covered by the participants
