The Berks Online Job Search was created and is maintained by the reference department of the Reading Public Library.

Bringing together direct links to over 200 Berks-related job sites, RPL’s Berks Online Job Search went live March 2009. To date, over 40,000 unique visitors have logged on for the best in Berks job opportunities. You can find listings for small and large local businesses, current job postings, and state and federal government positions - all just looking for the right candidate. The website has five main parts: Jobs, Job News, Job Hunting, Career & Education, and Job Help. See below for details on each section.

• The Jobs section of the Berks Online Job Search list the major employers in the Reading and Berks County area. An alphabetical listing of employers can be found on the right side of the page and the left side groups employers, job banks, newspapers, and job search engines by type and location.

• The Job News section of the Berks Online Job Search list local job events such as job fairs or other employment opportunities.

• The Job Hunting section has listings and links for tools to help you create and manage your cover letter, resume, and the job interviewing process. The Job Hunting section resources include listings of books, DVDs and other materials that you can loan from the Reading Public Library as well as links to other webpages.

• The Career & Education portion of the website includes links to other online webpages and tools that will help guide you in career selection and educational opportunities.

• The Job Help section is for local social services and other organizations that offer direct help in either finding work or providing direct benefits when working is just not possible.
