Three-dimensional models are significant and essential inputs for numerical simulations. Accurate geographical features will increase the reliability of the simulated flow over topography. Since advanced remote sensing measurement techniques such as Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) cannot penetrate through the water surface, the morphological features of rivers remain unknown until they are monitored separately. At this point, ADCP measurements need to be conducted as much as possible to capture most of the details. Following the merging process of LiDAR and ADCP data, many software such as TecPlot360 and Paraview can be used to perform the interpolation process to create Digital Elevation Models (DTM) of the study area.
