Testing the Sensor Matrix

Here you can download a simple program for Teensy 2.0 and Teensy++ 2.0, which will help you to test the sensor matrix and find errors, if any.

Teensy 2.0: testing_reedswitch_matrix.hex

The process is very easy:

1. Program the Teensy board (The Teensy Loader Application)

2. Open a simple text editor (plain text), such as Windows Notepad.

3. Connect the Teensy board to the PC.

4. Watch what appears in the text editor while you move the magnetic pieces on the chessboard.

5. Important: Do not touch the keyboard PC while running this program, and UNPLUG the USB cable BEFORE closing the text editor! ;-)

The text is refreshed about twice per second.
