I’m a Professor in behavioural development economics at the School of International Development (DEV), University of East Anglia (UEA), Norwich, United Kingdom. I joined the School in July 2004 after working as a post-doc for more than a year at the University of Bath. Before that I was a lecturer at the Department of Economics at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia, and worked there between 1986 and 1997.
My first (BA) degree in economics was from the Department of Economics, Addis Ababa University; I graduated with distinction and won the Chancellor's Medal for the College of Social Sciences. My master's (dissertation distinction) and DPhil (PhD) studies were both at Oxford University (the first at Queen's and the second at St. Antony's colleges).
