The BenQ W1080ST Projector is a1080P Home Video Projector.This lamp basedprojector is capable of displaying 2,000 Lumens at its brightest settingwith a native resolution of 1920x1080 , and is 3D capable. The internal DLP technology touts higher contrast, less visible pixels and more portability. This projector was first available for purchase in February 2013 and has been discontinued by BenQ.

ANSI LUMENS is the most commonly accepted industry standard brightness measurement. The ANSIlumen rating measures the brightest white that a projector can produce by averaging ninelight meter measurements taken across the projected image.

The projector itself is light and compact, making it easy to position. The white and silver aluminium finish looks smart, too, and the top controls are useful for adjusting the keystone angle and accessing the menus.

Is 2000 lumens enough? I know it depends on the room, but my current projector (a cheap Chinese thing) almost feels like it's getting dimmer. I'm not sure how many Lumens it has, but from a distance of about... 2.5m, it makes a about a 90-100" size screen, but kind of noticed recently that it really doesn't have a lot of punch. I thought it had more. Do Projector bulbs dim as they die? Either way, it really is useless until after dark, and it'd be cool if I could fire it up in a room that wasn't almost completely blacked out.

My budget is lowish, and I kind of just want something 1080p that punches above its price point. But.. I just found this: =k7oAUOR1dJ0 :) And I'm amazed by it in general! But the projectors he uses are 2x BenQ W1080ST.

Anyone has any thoughts on the BenQ W1080ST projectors in general for home cinema use, and some gaming (Not crazy like above. Just a big screen experience). If you're unfamiliar, quick specs are: 1080P, 3D, 2000 Lumens.
