Ben Landon has been teaching private percussion lessons for beginning students to early high school students for over 2 years. Ben is dedicated to ensuring each student gets the education they need to become a great musician. Focus in the private lesson studio is primarily concert percussion, consisting of work involving concert snare drum, marimba, drum set, and more. Ideally, students focus on two areas during lessons: pitched and unpitched. For example, a student might choose marimba and snare or drum set and marimba, rather than drum set and snare drum. Students are expected to bring their own mallets, drumsticks and books as needed for the material during the lesson, as well as a notebook to write down assignments. Students are expected to practice daily and ideally for the amount of time as their weekly lesson (ex: 30 minutes a day if weekly lessons are 30 minutes).
"Don't practice until you get it right. Practice until you can't get it wrong" - Roger Gracie
Lessons are a half hour long for the average player, and a hour long for the experienced player. You cannot have consistent progress without consistent attendance, so try to be there on time every day. I will not charge money for the day unless the absence is called on that day. Keep in mind that scheduling may not be perfect and it may be difficult to find a good time for you, so please try to be flexible with the times available.
