"Mr. Karl’s attitude everyday gave me the encouragement that I needed to keep going whether I had a bad day or week or I was simply tired and ready to go home. Mr. Karl was there for every one of his students and I could tell he really cared about all of us in the school aspect and in the personal aspect. Good luck Mr. Karl on everything you do here on out. I hope to see you again as one of my future teachers thank you for making the semester enjoyable :)"

"Mr. Karl helped me expand my vocabulary because he really focused on looking at the meaning behind terms and phrases we weren’t familiar with."

"It felt like he was more than just a 'teacher' and really did more than just teach us the materials. He helped me improve my depth of thinking this year."

"I really enjoyed the general structure that Mr. Karl used to teach us the different concepts. He did an excellent job with planning out our weeks so that we could better grasp those concepts, and that was helpful for me."

I’m going to be honest and say that I had an extremely negative attitude towards the class early on, maybe that was the people around me, but you did help change that. During our online learning I learned how much you cared about our class and I seriously respect that. You were unlike any teacher I had when dealing with the online learning and your video lessons were actually a slight bright spot in my day. I appreciate all you did to help our class learn, along with your extensive knowledge of film and literature. Thank you for your dedication to our learning and I hope you and your family are doing well during quarantine. Good luck in your future years of teaching!

"I have had a few student teachers in my high school years and none of them have come close to the amount of effort Mr. Karl has put in to make sure his class was as organized as possible. He also did a very good job interacting with his students and starting discussions. I wish you the best in the future Mr. Karl."

"Mr. Karl, you were extremely helpful when we had questions and answered them thoroughly, but never revealed the 'correct' answer. I also appreciated that you were understanding and cared more about us understanding the material than the grade. You were always able to give us a second chance. Thank You!"

I thought that Mr. Karl did an exceptional job with the way he presented the material to make sure we understood it. In fact, maybe the best I've ever had. Although, compared to my past classes the workload was too much for a regular 12 LC class. But it helped very much for preparing me for college and every assignment I could see how it was important to do in order to understand the material, so I can't complain really. One of the most well prepared English teacher I've had in a long time.

"I really liked how organized all the online submitting stuff was, it was pretty clear when everything was due, especially during the online schooling time of the class. I also liked the comments he left on assignments talking about areas of improvement."

"I think he cared a lot about connecting with students. There were multiple days where I stayed after class and we just spoke and I felt really valued and he always tried to make it fair when I wouldn't be at school for a while. Great teacher!"

"He would answer any questions I had quickly and clearly. He also gave me advice or insight that helped me. I think this quality is a really good thing to have as a teacher and Mr. Karl has it. 😊"
