"Mark (The producer) sent the beat to our collective almost a year ago. I really thought it was a legit fire beat, so I did my verse and requested a collaboration. Unfortunately it wasn't very seriously taken. That's why the song is just basically, my verse, and named 'DEMO 1' because basically its a demonstration of my skills as a musician or artist"

"This was... The first Dark Trap song I ever made. I used to make emo rap songs before this. I actually have a whole unreleased album of emo rap songs, but I don't think the world is ready to know that side of me yet. I made this song after a pre-release listening session of that album, one of my friends commented that I should make happy songs. People want to feel happy. So I pondered on what I related to apart from sadness: Drugs"

'Alone In My Room' was the first ever album Benjamin Blackbird made, and it was made (you guessed it) in his room in Athi River, Kenya. Battling heavy depression and suicidal thoughts this album is not for the faint hearted as it's themes border on mental disorders and insecurities with life itself, as well as drug abuse as a coping mechanism. Following a remaster request for it to be released to fans 'I Shoulda Told Ya' is the first song off this album with Blackbird's troubles with relationships as a theme, due to his anxiety and mental disorders.
This being the second EP to be released, it has a total of eight tracks each with a mellow, grudge or emo sound with a stern message sustained with clever lyricism.

"This was the second song I ever wrote. I was fed up. I was overwhelmed with everything and everyone… and I didn’t know how I would express myself and my limitations. I wrote this song on pills trying to numb myself. I wanted to find myself… y'know… try to get out of the negative thoughts and actually make something of myself. I hope by releasing this song today I get to inspire someone else too. "
