The Fiscal Sustainability Report published by the Swiss Federal Department of Finance is a flagship report that goes beyond the budget, the financial plan and the medium-term perspectives to provide a comprehensive view of public finances in the long run and to highlight the need for fiscal action. The policy focus of the 2024 issue is on the fiscal impact of population ageing (including health) and the energy transition, using long-run projections of public finances until 2060 for all levels of government and social security funds.
