Duende, comprised of members Dana Crytser, Ziqing Guan, Christopher Kowalewski, and Blair Mothersbaugh, is a prize winning flute quartet based out of the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC.
Deeply committed to innovative performance practice and community engagement, Duende specializes in site-driven performances and embraces the diverse interests and skills of its members to create unique listening opportunities. Past concerts include "Consider the Cedar: The Music of Congaree" in partnership with Congaree National Park and "Look Up: Music of the Night Sky" hosted by UofSC's Milton Observatory as a part of the Ears Wide Open concert series.
Duende believes in music, community, and the power of the arts to bring people together. The quartet's members are all accomplished performers, educators, and collaborators in the SE region.
