Privacy Policy — BendSure
Effective date: October 4, 2026
BendSure ("the app") is a conduit-bending calculator for iPhone and Android. You enter measurements, and the app shows where to mark and bend the conduit. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your information.
Your measurements never leave your device
Every calculation happens on your device. The lengths you enter, the marks and results the app shows, and the take-up values you type are never uploaded, transmitted or shared. There is no account and no sign-in. The app works fully offline, including in airplane mode.
Anonymous usage analytics
The app sends a small number of anonymous usage events through Aptabase, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand which calculators and modes are actually used and to guide future development. Aptabase is the only processor of this usage data. If the phone is offline, events wait and are sent later.
Every event is a discrete, named occurrence with a small number of fixed-value properties. There are 13 events in total:
the app was opened
a calculator was opened, and which of the seven it was
a result appeared for the first time on a calculator screen, plus which calculator, whether exact or bender-table math was on, and whether the app was set to inches or centimetres (never the numbers)
the math was switched between exact and bender table, to which, and from where (the result screen, the setup sheet or Settings)
the bender setup was changed, plus the bender brand, conduit type and trade size chosen
a take-up value was entered for a bender setup, plus the brand, conduit type and trade size, and whether the app already had a preset for it (never the value itself)
the "Steps & math" sheet was opened, and for which calculator
bend mode was started, and for which calculator
bend mode was finished, and for which calculator
"Try an example" was tapped, and on which calculator
"New job" cleared the inputs, or that was undone, and on which calculator
the entered values describe an impossible bend, and on which calculator (never the message)
the first-launch bender setup screen was finished or skipped, plus the bender brand and whether exact or bender-table math was in effect (never a take-up value)
Along with each event, Aptabase records standard technical context: operating system version, device model, app version, country (derived from IP address, which Aptabase does not store), and a session identifier that rotates and is not tied to you.
What is never sent, under any event:
any length, measurement, offset, height, take-up value, mark or result you enter or see
the values saved in the app's settings or the last inputs you used
error or warning message text
your name, email address, or any account information (the app has no accounts)
advertising identifiers or persistent device identifiers
precise location
This data is anonymous and is not linked to your identity. It is transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and is never sold and never shared for advertising; Aptabase acts only as our analytics processor. Sending this data is required to use the app: there is no in-app toggle to turn it off, short of denying the app network access at the operating-system level (see below).
Permissions
On Android the app requests one permission: Internet, used only to send the anonymous analytics events described above. The app does not request access to your contacts, photos, location, camera, microphone or files.
Other third parties
The app contains no advertising, tracking or payment services. The app is a one-time paid download; the purchase is handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play, and BendSure never sees your payment details.
What stays on your device
The app remembers your settings (for example inches or centimetres, exact or bender-table math, your bender brand, conduit type and trade size, and the last values you entered) in the app's local storage on your device. This information is never sent anywhere and is removed when you uninstall the app.
Data retention and your choices
Because the analytics data is anonymous and carries no identifier tied to you, there is no per-user record we can locate or delete on request. Aptabase retains aggregate event data under its own retention policy. If you prefer not to send any analytics, you can deny the app network access in your device settings (the app still works normally with no network connection) or uninstall the app, which removes all app data from your device.
Children
The app is a general-purpose calculator for tradespeople and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same URL with a new effective date, and the store privacy declarations will be updated to match.
