Caught in the Act at the United Nations
America On the Rocks
Thank you for visiting my gallery! I have loved photography for as long as I can remember. I enjoy the challenge of capturing an essence, a voice, an action, through this wordless and motionless medium. When done right, a photograph speaks a thousand words. Though the frame is still, it captures movement that tells a rich story with just one glance.
Photography's dynamism forces me to consider the world through endless perspectives. I have been fortunate enough to take photographs at the United Nations, for my school, and at events around the country. And with all of that, sometimes my greatest pride is capturing the littlest moments in nature and the world around me.
I do not edit my photos. The challenge of composing a shot in the moment excites me. It forces me to photograph with purpose and take photos with meaning beyond aesthetics. The world around us is raw and uncut. I want my photographs to capture that beautiful imperfection. To do so, they must be similarly imperfect. My photograph "America On the Rocks" (pictured on the left) exemplifies this notion. The photo is simple and could have very well been taken on a phone, yet its message is powerful. No matter how much I edit the photo, the story it tells will never change.
