Trying to make sense of our world and to salvage the precious moments of humanity we come across every day, it makes sense that my work sets itself in fantasy worlds and scenarios. In these fantasies, I can build imaginary scenarios to accentuate this beauty or deal with themes that would be too painful to explore otherwise. Taking advantage of having already suspended people's disbelief, it's easier to propose scenarios they wouldn't care to engage otherwise, like the experiences of queer or otherwise marginalized people. Part of my experiences of growing up disabled and queer was not seeing people like me in fiction or important roles, so my work aims to give the chance for future generations to imagine themselves in the same scenarios as their peers, whether that be riding a dragon and battling a giant or finding love and acceptance from their community.
