DETAILS OF WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE 8-WEEK VIRTUAL CLASS:
The Master Builder curriculum has helped prepare students to be successful in college, the workforce, and in life by way of cultivating creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Design challenges that can be done individually or with others lead students to apply math and science to the real world while building character for decades. This interactive class is 8 weeks, 1 hour per week, and taught by a certified, professional instructor. The class is designed for community and accountability so students can reinforce what was learned in class during the weekly homework.
The targeted grade levels for the curriculum are 3-8; however, units can be adapted to fit older or younger students. This curriculum is broken into four units with four projects per unit that are covered in a two-project-per-week format by way of class time and homework. There are vocabulary, math and science applications, research projects, presentation guides, data collection, data analysis, background reading, summary question sheets, and various assessments that appeal to the various learning modalities of audio, visual, and kinesthetic. The curriculum can be used as a math, science or character credit.
The Master Builder Class teaches creativity, problem-solving, character, and character using hands-on design/build/test challenges that have helped decades of students to seek purpose over career and learning over grades. The program has also helped many students prepare for college, the workforces, and life. This program introduces a unique approach to learning and preparing youth to interact with a technology-based biblical world in wisdom.
Design: Students will enjoy designing a solution in 2D or 3D to a challenge with multiple possible solutions and extra extensions. They will discover that there are many ways to design solutions to challenges, and there is always room for improvements, yet often not time for those improvements.
Build: Students will engage in the building according to their design with constraints of materials and time, with many possible ways to implement a design using everyday materials. Students will learn that often there are needs for multiple redesigns.
Test: Students will test their built items to verify how well they satisfied the initial goal. Students will learn from their testing whether their designs pass for fail the initial test and that redesign and build alterations may be needed.
The journals challenge students to seek Godly purpose in vocation considerations and application of character in their lives. Each character journal assignment follows the focused biblical character trait for a given unit. By use of the bible, bible encyclopedias, and engineering type job needs; students will read, think, seek Godly wisdom, and write.
Each unit will have math and science measurements to be made, data to analyze, and conclusions to be made on the effect of the applied math and science principles on their designs and final products.
Students will have background readings focused on math and science vocabulary definitions needed in each unit; a focus on and summary readings that will connect the topics to the natural and engineered real world.
Assessments that are 1) via multiple choice standardized test type questions 2) via math science/science applications 3) via presentations 4) written summaries; and other forms. This allows students to be assessed in various learning modalities including audio, visual, kinesthetic, and others.
Each unit will lead students to research an engineering-based topic to write a summary.

How do Master Builder's live classes work?
Students participate in scheduled live sessions via a virtual classroom platform, engaging in real-time with experienced instructors and peers. Classes are designed to be interactive, encouraging discussion, and active learning. Sessions are recorded, allowing students to review material as needed or catch up on any class they missed live.
Do I need to grade my child's work in these classes?
No, Master Builder’s instructors handle grading and assessments, providing feedback directly to students and parents. This approach allows parents to focus on supporting their child’s learning journey without the added responsibility of grading.
Can my student access class recordings if they miss a session?
Yes. All live sessions are recorded and made available to enrolled students, ensuring they can catch up on any missed content at their convenience.
How do I enroll my child in an Master Builder Live Class?
The live class enrollment period runs 3-months before start of classes which usually begin in September and January.
Enrollment can be completed here, on Master Builder’s official website. Simply navigate to the Live Classes section, select the desired class, and follow the registration instructions. Early registration is recommended, as class sizes may be limited.
Is there support available if my student has questions outside of class time?
Yes, instructors are accessible to students for additional support and questions. Details on how best to contact instructors outside of scheduled class times are provided during the class orientation.
What is the parent's responsibility for live classes?
Parents should ensure that their homeschooling program adheres to the academic standards set by their state of residence. Additionally, we recommend that parents remain involved in their child’s education by reviewing completed assignments, providing assistance with labs, and observing test-taking as needed.
As the authorized educational institution, it is the responsibility of your homeschool to maintain accurate records, grades, transcripts, and other important documentation that may be required for admission to other educational institutions.
