We are Bellevue fifth graders and we have been working on a project. In this project we wrote monologues from a book we read together earlier this school year called Esperanza Rising and then performed them for our 5th grade community monologue project. It is important that we do this so we can talk about the human rights in the story and how a few people had their human rights threatened. We have learned about a few different human rights from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and we saw how some were violated in the story. Even though it is wrong, the story was really good to read and I hope you like our fifth grader’s monologues! Enjoy!
